Mine just likes to look cool beside them.

...and giving them the occasional sniff. Cats will be cats.

That's actually one of my two cats. The other one couldn't care less.

I love cats and love collecting. Now I have a dog and two cats with my stuff, I am always worried that my collector's room door will be open and they'll have a hayday. So that door remains closed at all times. Seldom do I go in to check on my stuff. It sucks. But I just don't want to chance forgetting to leave the door open a peak and have my animals get in there. I have a high energy lab/cross collie and she's a good size pet. 50-plus lbs of one. My brat cat Gizmo already has done damage in there. Thankfully I have an elite customizer who can make it look mint, but still... just the cost to get it fixed is irritating. But you know what, I wouldn't change a thing. Love my toys, my *******, and my dog. It's a risk I have accepted. No different than you California collectors and your Earthquakes. It comes with the territory. Collecting in general is a risky situation.

if your cat messes with things you dont want them to, then its obvious the cats thinks its his/her house.
let them know whats up. Establish the boundaries and never give in on them. No gray areas, only black and white. .... :monkey1

My collectibles are in their own room... and it is off limits to the cats.

I did leave the door open by accident one day and found that my cat had decided to walk though my vintage Kenner SW collection knocking over more than half of them :lol

Both my cats tend to leave my stuff alone. They're not the climb-all-over-the-bookshelves kind of cats. They like the top of the couch, or the dinner table, or the beds, or looking out the kitchen window on the counter. We have all sorts of collections all over the house (all kinds of antiques) on display and they haven't really interfered with any of it.

We got really lucky with our cats.

BTW, it's great to see everyone's cats here!
