Damn that really sucks. Do you know where they could have gotten it from?

It would have to be from somewhere online. I did all of my Christmas shopping online this year, and it's the only card I used. Unless it's possible to get it off of xbox360 or something. I did sign up for Live for the first time last month.

Yeah, mine happened in that short window of time where Toys2 didn't have their security certificate. Its only site that said proceed anyway to order something and a couple of days later my card was being used.

You have to check your statement- this is a MUST!

For this reason I only use one credit card- that's it. So simple now that I don't know why I ever did it any other way. I cancel every account I pay off and intend to only keep one card account open. I know some financial advisers tell you that closing your accounts hurts your credit but I would rather close them then leave myself open and exposed to fraud.

smart thing to do!!!

Who stills someones card number and illegally uses it to buy crap and then have it sent to the card holder?

Maybe the thief is a friend of yours who thinks your dvd collection sux ass?

I just got off the phone with them and they said they do it just to test the card and see if it's working. I did find out the email address. Apparently it's one person that stole the card....

Anyone know how to track someone down?

Wouldn't your CC company be able to work with Google to get some basic info even if its probably fake...

I had to get my debit card replaced just last month because a couple of bogus charges turned up; they were small, one for about $35 and one for only $4, but I knew something was up and immediately called the bank and took care of it! That card was canceled, refunds process started, and temp new card issued, all in one day! I must say, as much as I hate Bank of America because of their size and policies, they do provide good customer service!!!

The guys at Capital One told me that once your card has been stolen that they will charge in increases meaning the first will be usually under $10 and the second under $50 in order to see if the car works....then they go nuts.

I broke up after a 5 year relationship a month before I was to get married. At this point my ex had a lot of my personal info. After we broke up she signed me up to hundreds of dollars of worth of porn sites,(not any that I would visit :naughty) luckily my CC company was able to take care of the situation!

I went through something similar only my ex-wife and I was with her for 12 years (5 married) and she didn't sign me up for hundreds of dollars worth of porn.

She had my CC info on her old computer and somehow managed to pay her Honda Financial Group hundreds of dollars on a weekly basis last month with my bank account. I had no idea where the money went as I'm usually pretty good budgeting. She paid this group 6 separate payments (period between late November & December) a sum of just under $700. When I called her to see if she had anything to do with the Honda charges. She apologized and said that she hadn't been to that website since we were still together and "forgot" that she never switched the account. Needless to say, I got my money back and went to the bank to change my entire account including checks.

My advice is for everybody to always check your monthly banking statements. I got hit before on my CC. Some company called Dealmaxx charged $1 and had separate companies charge $1 each time up to 18 different times (with 18 different type of business names). I was lucky the fraud protection worked on the card. I got a call that day that informed me of what was going on and they refunded me the $18 that was taken. Shortly after, I starting getting subscriptions I never asked for with Entertainment Weekly and Sports Illustrated. I immediately went to the account number listed and there was a fake e-mail address with my name (ie. [email protected]). Somebody got a hold of my account information and I had to change my CC#.

Did you annoy someone recently because it sounds like a good way to get back at someone. Sign them up for a bunch of lame subscriptions - that's a classic.

You could do the same with his email account - just spam it with a bunch of lame subscriptions.
