I was always a "Make mine Marvel" kinda guy, but as of late I'm 100% a DC fan. The only thing I read as far as Marvel goes now is Astonishing X-men, Uncanny X-Men and X-Men. Other than that, I just can't get into anything Marvel anymore. I thought House of M was an interesting idea, poorly executed, in my opinion. Then, Civil War made my decision to stop reading Marvel. Again, an interesting idea, poorly executed, IMO. From Spider-Man joining the Avengers, unmasking, the idea of killing Mary Jane, and now, from what I've heard, possibly killing Sue Storm, it all just seems like a desperate attempt to keep readers' interest, instead of writing good stories. The writers at Marvel just keep letting me down.
Now as far as DC goes, "52" is awesome, Darwyn Cooke's new "The Spirit" and "Batman/Spirit" (written by Jeph Loeb) were great. And if you've never read it, I strongly advise picking up "New Frontier," either in trade form or the new Absolute edition that came out a while ago. Greatest book I've read in a long time, great art and even better story telling.
