I think it's a good idea to combine comiquette's and PF's into one. I just hope they call any PF's with real clothing: Mixed Media-PF . And any Comiquette, simply called PF's.

Good Idea. Let's Hope.

it = fully sculpted (not norm)
Since 'norm' can't work out as 'multiple cases'.

Respectfully, although I never said it WAS the norm except for multiple instances (please reread my post), here is the current list.

Growing list of 1:4 (or close) scale comiquettes:

1. Carnage Comiquette
2. Venom Comiquette
3. Spiderman Comiquette
4. Ironman Comiquette
5. Stealth Ironman Comiquette
6. Punisher Comiquette (aimed for 1/4 confirmed by the sculptor Martin)
7. Elektra Comiquette (btw 1/5 and 1/4)
8. Mystique Comiquette (closer to 1/4)
9. Ironman Maquette
10. Back in Black Spiderman Comiquette (btw 1/5 and 1/4)
11. Iron Spiderman Comiquette
12. Man-Thing
13. Silver Surfer Comiquette.
14. Namor Comiquette
15. Classic Ironman Comiquette
16. Wolverine Comiquette
17. Warmachine Maquette
18. X-23 Comiquette

They did it with Abomination and The Thing and Hulk wasn't far off in scarcity of cloth.

I see what you're saying, but your list includes

1. 1/4 statues that could absolutely not have been done as PFs, because cloth wasn't an option. Since cloth wasn't an option, nothing is proven, because they HAD to be fully sculpted. They defaulted to 1/4 because they couldn't have been PFs. If those characters could have had PFs, those comiquettes would have been 1/5 comiquettes, or PFs with cloth.

2. 1/5 statues that are definitely not 1/4. Wolverine's proportions have clearly been shown in comparison pics to be smaller than the PF's proportions. It's not the statue size that matters, it's the proportions. Same for Punisher. Mystique is close, but close is still not 1/4.

Iron Spideman, Punisher, Elektra & Bib Spidey are not 1:4 scale

Iron Spidey is 1/4. Aside from me having it, in comparison pics the figure has the same proportions to the 1/4 Spidey PF.

So if their main focus is 1/4th now does that mean the modern X men team i have been collecting in 1/5th going forward will all be in 1/4th? That kinda annoys me... I have been waiting for a Modern Cyclops Com and now it will be out of scale with the rest of my team??? :\

No sir! God damn you Empir3!

PFs = 1/4. Comis = 1/5

Time for recess boys + girls!

By the way they phrased their answer it seemed their focus would be 1/4th in general no? Meaning most releases would now be 1/4th?

Yea my bad I just edited. I think they will continue the 1/5 line. I think for the X-Men Retro = 1/4, Modern = 1/5. Pretty dumb to have 2 Cyclops under the PF banner and none for the Comi line

You may be right, for now. But I have a feeling that fully sculpted 1/4 scale will eventually replace mixed media altogether within PF line. Mixed media has got to be more labor intensive, time consuming, & therefore possibly more expensive to produce. Besides I've never seen a Pf mixed media that would not look way better if fully sculpted. Ever.

I just thought that SS savings $ on removing the crappy fabrics, could be put to better use in improving bases & light-ups.

So, what would you rather have? A traditional PF with ill fitting fabrics, which always obscure great anatomical details, with uninspired bases:slap; or a Fully Sculpted, more dynamically posed figure, on an interesting base, with possible inspired light-up features? :wink1:

Wait for it, because it's coming.

Yes, I'm afraid you're right about losing the originality and realism of mixed media because the ugly and toylike fully sculpted is cheaper to produce.

I highly doubt it. They will finish the line in the same scale. SSC never said they were cancelling the Comiquette line. They simply said ANY 1/4 scale piece is now a PF. This leaves the door open for EVERY Com to be in 1/5 scale now. Afterall, if it's 1/4 scale it's a PF now.

I truly believe that SSC will finish off the modern X-MEN Coms in 1/5 scale. There really are only a few more characters that MUST be made. Cyclops is at the top of the list. You may see Emma, Kitty, and Wolverine added to the line. After that, it wouldn't surprise me if they called it a day for the line.

There real question is whether we will see any more Com lines starting up. The Avengers are a perfect example. Thor and Cap have yet to be released in fully sculpted form. If those characters are released as 1/4 scale fully sculpted PFs, then I think SSC is tipping its hand. I believe that Coms will begin to be phased out and we will be left with 1/4 scale pieces in the future. It's been awhile since we have seen a 1/5 Com go up for order. I wonder why?

Yea what made me think it was a dead line was the line where they said they are prioritizing 1/4th. I hope you are right though as all i really still want for my modern display are the 4 you listed. It will be very annoying to have them in a different scale and im sure they wont go back and do the modern characters they have done any time soon.

I am in the EXACT same boat you are. I have Colossus and Nightcrawler and would have to have Wolverine, White Queen and Cyclops at the very least to finish this line. I'm not a big Kitty fan so I can live without her. I do hope they make Kitty for the fans that do want her. I can just pass on any piece I don't like. That's what happened with Beast and Angel for me. Beast's pose just didn't fit in with the rest of the line IMO. Angel was a fantastic statue. I just don't care for the character.

If there are anymore modern X-MEN Coms SSC wants to release, then by definition they must be 1/5 scale. I guess we'll have to wait and see what's the future for this line.

Yea i currently have Beast, Nightcrawler , Colossus and Angel and i love them. I actually bought the Emma PF because it was her modern costume, i would still potentially go for a 1/5 one. I am really hoping for a Kitty though.

I hope SSC stands by their consumer and at least finishes the line like you are saying then moves on to strictly 1/4 or whatever. I understand the business choice but don't burn the consumers who have been supporting you.

Both Iron Spidey and punisher are in between 1:4 & 1:5. They are not and I repeat....not 1:4 scale!

So starting April 8th all 1:4 statues regardless if it's comiquette or not will be called Premium Format. Interesting change by SSC. They must realize that the 1:4 line sells far greater then 1:5 by now.

I don't have any problem saying bye bye to 1/5. I have seen so many things I like at 1/5th but I don't have a problem passing on it b/c of size. 1/4th across the board will streamline things I think.
