I got him. I think he looks great! Not Vader or a Stormie, but still cool enough to boss around my Sandtrooper and stand next to my Hurricane Vader. Love the costuming, might get one down the line for parts if they ever go the way of gift card use and freebies. But with the way it's selling, I doubt it will.

It's not what I would have expected, but I acctually like this. It is from the OT and when SS first announced the Militaries line this is what I was expecting. I think I'll get it. I just SS makes more OT characters.

I ordered him but not sure if I'll keep him. He looks good though even if the hat is a bit large. I really hope we get the rebel fleet troopers soon, it looks like we're moving in that direction--I hope!

Eh, I went ahead and ordered one. Maybe I'll stick him on an HT body with a pair of Newline boots, I reckon that'd look pretty sharp. Or maybe I'll just cancel, plenty of time to decide.

I've been hard on this piece, but taken solely for what it is, I do think it's a neat figure. Those Imperials were sharp dressers, and Sideshow did a good job on the uniform. The problem is timing. Being Spooktacular, and with the clues they gave (which they had to know would have people thinking Vader), it was just the wrong time for an uber-obscure piece like this. If this had come after Vader or a Stormtrooper, I think people would be hailing it as a nice companion piece. As it is, it kinda comes across as Sideshow having a bit of fun with it's fans by giving those misleading clues which obviously wasn't the best idea.

No offense to Pix, but there absolutely nothing in the clues that even hinted at Vader, except that he was in black. We've had some pretty major announcements at Spook this year (Shaun, Elvira, whatever the Darkman next one is) and I never would have thought they'd announce a much anticipated SW character during Spook.

It wasn't just pixletwin, a lot of folks were thinking Vader. Anytme you give a Star Wars clue about an OT character in black, the first thought is gonna be Vader, especialy during an event like Spooktacular. Sideshow had to know that.

There was more than just that.

1) It talked about his mind being clouded. I interpreted this as the Dark Side clouding his mind.

2) The storm sounded like it alluded to the stormtroopers surrounding vader has he stepped on Tantive IV.

3) My interpretation of the word "officer" wasn't as rigid as most of yours. Technically Vader is an Officer of Empire's Army... The highest ranking officer, to be sure.

Even without my Vader Conga line, people were coming to that conclusion.

What convinced me in my mind was the Mistress Of The Web predictions, two were "You may proclaim that Darth Vader is cool but you secretly like Luke Skywalker best.", and "Don't let revenge take over your life... I predict it will lead to darkness".
Put those together with Criswell's prediction, and it seemed to be Vader.
In retrospect, that revenge leading to darkness sounds a lot like Darkman!

I think he looks great, my original thought was a black imperial officer. I don't remember this guy specifically unless he was the guy that talk to Vader saying keeping Leia was dangerous on the Tantive IV.

For the first time I missed a PPO and had to resort to the wait list. I did order 2 on the waitlist, but I believe this figure will be easy to find fairly quickly after it is realeased. So I will get more, then, for customizing into more Imperial officers.

I am also stoked that we are getting more figures with stormtrooper blasters from Sideshow.

Sideshow makes mistakes all the time in product descriptions... bring it their attention and they will correct it. Looks llike it'll come with 2 guns to me.
