Is 50 posts too low of a number? I personally would like to see a requirement of at least 300 before you are allowed to use the commerce section. What do you guys think?

I mean you could have more than 300 posts and still scam someone. Just cause they have 300 or 50 posts doesn't promise you then won't screw you over. The only way to find out is to check their feedback or just give it a shot (if they don't have any).....thats life if they screw you over and yes it sucks. But thankfully the majority of the people on here are fair and honest and just want to collect action figures :)

You bring up a valid point. However, if someone comes here with the sole purpose to scam then they will be more deterred by a 300 post requirement than a 50. Like I said, a scam artist isn't going to want to waste their time getting 300 posts before they make a buck...hopefully. 50 is just too small of a number. I sneeze and make 50 posts.

300 sounds good to me and add a 30 to 60 day minimum member time on top of it.

My honest feeling is 100 is ok. I mean especially if someone is referred here and they have a large positive ebay seller account or a lot of positive feedback from another board.

You also bring up a good point man. But then again if someone really wanted to scam someone else on a Iron Man Comiquette for like $600. Then i'm sure the person would go through the trouble to get 300 posts to get a few Hundred bucks for free. But then again at the same time, having it set at 300 posts will def. prevent a lot of these people from doing so. So the more posts required then the better.

Case in point....this guy Straps has just over 50 posts here and immediately posted his Wolverine vs Sabretooth dio up for sale. He clearly joined here and posted for the sole purpose of selling something only. Now look, its been weeks since Pitu has heard anything from the guy.

I also like the idea of a minimum time requirement as well. This will prevent people from just going on a posting binge to get up to the required amount. I know I sound like a commerce nazi but this board isn't intended to just be a selling ground and I think these new rules will help protect our members more. The more loops we make a scam artist jump through the less likely they will want to go through the hassle.

I also happened to hear of this and wander if we should skin this guy alive.

I think it is all quite reasonable. What I want to know is how many posts Melvin had and how long he had been a member when he scammed everyone. Would it have made a difference in his case?

I don't want anyone to get burned, but I really don't like the post minimum. I hate all of the crap posts people make getting to 50, 100, or whatever. I would personally rather see a time limit or neither as opposed to a post limit. :monkey1:monkey1

I say 300, if they really want to be a part of this community and want to sell here make them work for it.

Agreed! :duff I can't stand the cheapskate newbs who join to avoid eBay fees. :emperor:emperor:emperor:emperor

Now the old timers, they are ok. :D:monkey3:cool:
