The Star Wars Chronicles books are also invaluable to customizers. I use them for reference, along with having the film playing while I paint. Extremely helpful!

Looking at both it appears to be a mix. Some stuff not in the SWC is in the CVD and some isn't.

Let's see:

For Mace--In Episode 1 they were of the same length as his tunic.
In Episode 2 they were about 2 inches below the tunic

For Obi-Wan--In Episode 2 they were about an inch below the tunic.

I'll check back later for the others

DK's books are just that... "juvenile" compared to Star Wars Chronicles.

I disagree completely. Sure the Complete Visual Dictionary isn't as comprehensive as the Chronicles books(both of which I own by the way), but I certainly wouldn't call it "juvenile". It's a 275 page book full of great pics and information for only $25 shipped(from Amazon). It's certainly worth the purchase IMHO.

The only problem I have with the Chronicles books is that they are a bit difficult to 'use' like if you want to scan a page, or even going to a specific page I worry about damaging it. Also, they have many good pictures but some are so small they are unusable.

But I do find that the Visual Dictionary (got to check it out over the weekend at Barnes and Noble) is pretty nice for what it is. Good quality book.

Both are awesome IMO. They compliment each other really well and I'm glad I have them as resources to fall back on.

I just picked this up last weekend and it is definetely a good book to use for reference, plus it is much easier to use for scanning.

I personally cherish my Chronicles books too much to have it man-handled under a scanner. They are beautiful books.
