On the run.
Seeing how I just found out my PS3 just got it's 2nd YLOD, I figured I'd make a poll on how many times your console crashed on you with YLOD, RROD etc.

This is two for me so far.

Instead of sending it back to Sony to get repaired I might just mail it to Sony and get a Slim.

I got Gamecube and Wii, never had issues. The last time I had my PS3 repaired was a little over a year ago IIRC.

I'm considering getting the GTA V bundle.

I have never had a broken ps3 though the drive on my slim seems loud.
Had and Xbox 360 from day 1 and have had various problems with the meaning I went through 15 of them

do they break because of heat issues?

when Sony Announced that the PS4 runs cooler than the PS3 people were delighted .

I'm on my third PS3 now, my first one just stopped working after 3 months (I'd hardly used it which was the annoying part ). Sent it back to Sony who sent a replacement. This one lasted for a couple of years before I got the YLOD - think this may have been caused by overheating as the fan sounded like it was about to take off before it died! Now on a Slim PS3 which is working great (touch wood).

Been really lucky. My day one PS3 only recently died and I never had a 360 die. My day one 360 started acting funny and I decided to replace it before it died. Never had any of my old systems die.

Just checking, you guys do allow some time for your (current gen) consoles to cool off after playing a game do you? That's a huge contributor to console failure. That and DREs.

Well now I keep my 360 in an air conditioned environment. My ps3 had no problems and I'm glad. Had it for seven yrs. Wonder what horrible situations the next gen will give us.

I'm on my second Xbox 360 (first one got the RROD). And recently my Gamecube died (the lens got all jacked up and won't read discs anymore).

My Ps3 tends to only crash during games like Fallout and some times Skyrim. Other than that it seems to just fine, but it has crashed from those games multiple times.
I also had a xbox 360 for a long time, but it red ringed 3 times and I finally gave up on it. Oddly enough the original Xbox that I had never had problems.

Thing is you should not need to do this.
I would sit on my Original Xbox for hours at a time with no issue.

Game that crashed most for me was fallout , oblivion and Skyrim for some reason.

Also on my 5 xbox i had done 120 hours on Oblivion and did not get my hard drive back.
So it took me a good few years before i could go back to it , thus only comlpleting it last year

I think I'm pretty fortunate, because I haven't had a single console crash on me. Sony and Microsoft really have to improve their quality control.

Funnily enough i never had the RROD it was that stupid disc is dirty error.
fan's not working , hard drive not working , power button not working.

I would prefer to wait an extra year or two so they can test and more test the consoles.
As i think the 360 was just rushed for Christmas before they could do proper quality control.
And i fear the same may happen again.
Also you should not have to install your games to make the console sound quiet as my xbox sounds like and aircraft carrier taking off.
We my PS3 is almost silent.
I will get both consoles eventually PS3 this Christmas and Xbox next.
Just hope they release good original titles and not sequal's .
