Re: Full Color Hot Toys Base Decals - Check em out!
Woah, woah, what's going on here?
All I did was ask if anyone had interest in a design with PRINTED metallics. For example I can print an image of ironman crest, and drop a true silver overlay onto it to pop it.
Someone else (not me) posted an example of a metallic base decal...thats it. That style of decal is not what I had in mind, nor did I say I was going to copy it.
Listen guys, I like Evilface, I like his work, I like what he has done for the community...I OWN Evilface decals on some of my personal figures. Decals that I am not going to replace with even my own designs. When I decided to jump into the mix, I wanted to take a different spin on decals, my designs primarily focus on full color images with logos and branding. My printer is a plotter/cutter also, I could easily buy colored vinyl and do layered decals the same as EF, but I'm not because that's a **** move...that's his thing, I simply wanted to offer a different take on decals, in the form of printed designs.
I don't understand why this is a big deal?
I see Nathan and Josh, competing painters complementing each other all the time. We have dozens of painters, dozens of customizers, dozens of sculptors collecting in harmony. It stands to reason having a couple of options for decals is just fine. Variety is a spice of life. If a new sculptor shows up on the boards, do we tell him, "you can't sculpt a Walter White...Trevor already does those". I would think we would welcome more options for customization and collectability?
Does it have to be any more complicated than this?
