does anyone here dress up for conventions they go to?? im asking because i used to have a boba fett suit that my friend built for me. he was in the 501st and would do all kinds of stuff with the group. i plan on attending next year's SDCC in full jedi gear and was wondering if anyone else here was into it.

I used to have a Stormtrooper armor that I wore a few times before nearly losing my mind and selling it. I am interested in attending a con dressed as Obi-Wan from Episode 3, I just loved that costume. I've been crossing my fingers in hopes that MR would release their costume sets, but I don't know if it will ever happen.... :monkey2

I'll probably have one made or something. I just nitpick everything and want the best. Maybe next year I can wear one to SDCC....

I had a hard enough time getting my girlfreind to accept my collecting habits, I dont know how she would take the news of me dressing up like a Jedi....I for one have never been into dressing up like movie characters(unless horror, and only for Halloween)....but when you have a great costume there is no point in letting go to waste....

If you look at any of the pics of SDCC you'll see there are a lot who dress up. I won't though. Unless you count my "Sold out to the Dark Side" T-shirt as dressing up as a Sideshow employee :lol

Why would you dress up for SDCC anyway? Celebration IV is next year also, and that's more specifically Star Wars so it would make sense to go there dressed up.

Anyways, I would dress up if I had a costume, Stormtrooper---Vader, whatever (as long as it covers my face :vader ) what would be cool would be to get a MR Episode III clone helmet and fix up a set of armor and go as a clone, I don't think anyone's done that---Or better yet...as a Clone Commander, just imagine someone walking around in a Commander Gree costume, that would be awesome.

I've got a complete Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, and Biker Scout costume. I'm about 75% done with Boba Fett but it won't be finished in time for SDCC... I might wear the Vader armor on Saturday even thought I swore I would never wear it again after Halloween 2004. The full costume weighs about 80 pounds. And you sweat like a pig. But perhaps it will draw people over to my table in the Small Press section (M-11.)

Maybe I can convince my girlfriend to wear the Biker Scout armor again...

- Joe!

Tons of people wear full stormtrooper armor to the convention. I can't imagine it though unless you're just standing around.

Couldn't make sense of it:confused: I thought wow this guy needs help.

But hey back to topic.

I've never dressed up for a convention but I like to see dressed up people at a convention just gives it an extra boost.

I put together an Obi-Wan costume to wear this Halloween. It ended up costing way too much, because of that same nitpicking tendency. It's not perfect, by any means, but I realized that I'd reached a point where I'd be the only one to notice any improvements.

True!! I mean, Dave, you see how uncomfortable I look above trying to sit down??? I won't even go into the "pinchage" factor with you... That just makes it worse! It was fun, but painful... and to top it all off, you just can't do as much at the convention in full armor. It just makes it that much harder to do anything.

Besides, Luke was totally right on ANH.. You CAN'T see a thing out of that helmet! :lol

I dress up like a Jedi, but only once a year on Halloween. I have never been to a convention.

weve had only one convention here years ago, maybe we'll get another one,we've a growing costumers group here, this is mine.....im a bit short of David Prowse,im 6'3"......about 6'8" suited up...

i plan on putting together a custom anakin ROTS costume. only problem is.... ankain is tall and skinny, and im short and stocky. so i will be my "own" jedi.

I'm a skinny 6' 3" so I think an ROTS Vader would be best for me, although I could probably pull off a reasonable Anakin.

Recognisable character?

Sadly no regular conventions around my area... closest was Art of Star Wars 200 miles away early this year :D

My fav.copnvention Jedi was a 5'4" 260 lbs. Black Obi Wan at Chicago Wizard World last year. At first I thought, "Truely he's his own character", than I asked and low and behold "I'm Obi Wan Kenobi, why do you ask? Is it because I'm black?" I responded "You're black?" He seemed to have a good sense of humor about it, it was sweet. I'm dressing up as a jerk from Chicago who burns like a protesting monk in the sun in San Diego, I guess in that case I can be Johnny Storm. But seriously I don't dress up, my wife would leave me. Unless it was Jar Jar, and that's because she's sick.
