I agree! That almost makes me regret not ordering this one. It turned out really nice.
That looks nice. And I agree with the paint apps holding up. I think they dropped the orange "lava glow" paint apps on Gollum as well. Nice job.
But that tiny base still makes the piece look like a paper-weight. It should have definitely been taller and would have provided more drama to the "edge of the cliff" pose.

I am so glad I forgot to cancel. This piece looks superb and at only $80 it's a freakin masterpiece.

Nope, while the paint is really good, the size isn't appealing to me.
I hear ya. That's the main thing holding me back. That and I don't want to start another line. I am happy still backtracking getting SS/W pieces. My Gentle Giant LotR bust collection and my mixed collection of P.F.

i should get mine on tues. cant wait i realy do wish they would have kept the cost down i was excited about getting as many as i could ,but at $300 i have to pass.i still dont understand the jump.the aragorn dio is stil 1/8 scale .same scale as frodo and gollum so what gives?

Just got mine and the bottom of Frodo's shirt is missing. Looks like it got lopped of in the factory and then painted over. At this point, it's a return. 
Here is how it is supposed to look.
Here is mine. Notice the broken off shirt.
I love Sideshow, I love their products, and I love their customer service but I am really grumpy about their lackluster Quality Control. I get too many things that have to go back. Rarely do I have problems like this with other companies. What gives? Are you guys getting stuff like this as well or is it just my luck?

That sucks. I've only had to return one item to Sideshow so far (my PF Frodo because the sword came with a big glob of brown paint on it) but returing and getting the item was a breeze (thanks to the wonderful customer service folks). Yeah, it's painful to have to send something back and wait for a new one but I'm sure you're new one will be top notch. Other than that snafu the statue looks great doesn't it?
