Yeah but they are going for $2500 to people with good feedback and up to $5000. Thats still crazy.

i was thinking the same thing. even the second potential winner has a 0 feedback as well.

I'm not denying that there are a lot of stupid people out there with a lot of money to burn. It's a good thing there are a lot of greedy people that love to screw over the people that really want these the most

By tomorrow all those bidders will say not a registered user just like a lot of the other high auctions.

all i can say is that good thing I am not a gamer :lol ..perhaps next time your significant other or parents tell you that you are wasting your money of dollies and statues, perhaps show them this ebay link and ask them, "would you rather want me to be a gamer?" :lol

that sux...doesn't the seller still get charged by ebay fees??

Not to familiar with ebay but that would suck. Unless the first legit bidder won the auction.

just don't get why people rush out to spend top dollar on these things. they said that this was only an initial shipment and they are flying (not shipping) orders overseas before the holidays. even after holidays, how many PS3's will we see on the shelves at regular prices (and hopefully with the bugs worked out)

:banana :banana :banana People are bananas...B-A-N-A-N-A-S...bananas :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana

I did the same thing Danny. Crazy.

the seller stated he would cancel any bids from a buyer with a zero feedback....of course he also said he was 2nd in line at the beginning and then later on said he was 3rd.....are there 2 of him?

One of 2 things has happened with those 10-15 thousand dollar auctions:

1.) Some Sony fans have decided to create fake accounts in order to either A.)create fake buzz by making it look like the machine is selling for 12,000 dollars. or B.)"punishing" at least in their view, a scalper. That person will still have a few hundred dollars against their account. Sure, they can get it back, but it will take awhile.
2.) Sellers are trying to make it look like the machine is in higher demand than it really is. They create a fake auction which they have fake accounts to bid up. After this one shows up at insane amounts, they put up a real one (or another fake if they are con-men) which sells for a "bargain price". Seller gets the inflated sell, plus will eventually get the credit from the sell back after filing a non-payment.

Anyway you look at it, those numbers and bids are fake. No one is that stupid ... sure, possibly that rich, but not that stupid. I can believe the 2 to 5 thousand. Rich people will blow a lot to have something no one else does. However, not 22 x the original cost.

Look at the Japanese eBay market. The PS3s were very high the night of the launch. Within days, the prices plummeted. Now, many have ended today BELOW the original sale price. While it may take a little longer, but I see the same thing happening here. There just aren't enough people willing to spend insane prices. The fact that these idiots are posting them all at the same time only hastens the drop - the inverse of supply and demand, too much supply ... almost ironic :D

Want a real good laugh? Check completed listings on them. Yesterday there was one that sold for 114 million plus change and almost all the bidders were no longer registered. Want another good laugh check ratings on the exlusive games for it. There's only one that got a good score. All the others tanked. X-play was making complete fun of the exclusive line-up of games.
