Looks fun. Gives the feel of the Invincible cartoon.

I remember getting their first appearance in a comic lot sometime in the mid 80's. An Army Frankenstein looks awesome. Never read it though . . . .

First episode was iffy but the second definitely left me wanting more. Love The Bride!

I enjoyed the first two episodes, but I also think that for Gunn, this series is playing it pretty safe. This is basically Gunn plays his greatest hits: team of misfits grudgingly join forces to defeat evil. He IS good with this dynamic, but the real test for him will be Superman.

I’m super confused. Is the suicide squad canon to this new dcu? Cause why are the characters from that movie in this?

Yes,

The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, and this are part of the new DCU canon (along with Superman, of course). Gunn may be picking and choosing certain elements from them too (ie Mamoa is not Aquaman in this continuity) so there may be some minor inconsistencies that will be coming from spinning off a new continuity from the last one. Robbie is also up in the air as Harley still.

The true DC experience, then.

"We're resetting the universe... except we're keeping the continuity of character X... and maybe Z but we don't know yet."

I just finished the season and am admittedly surprised at how awful the CCs themselves ended up being. Sure they are damaged goods, but we're also talking mass murderers and child killers here. The only character who gained my esteem over the course of the show was Weasel (a complete surprise after TSS).

I'm not quite sure how Gunn expects us to root for these guys in the future. I mean, was the theme of the show close to the source material?
