I'm surprised at the condition, but then again, maybe not! If I were rich I don't think I would care anyway!!! :lol

I figure this might be a good thread to ask this:

I know some of you guys have ranked your SS 12" Creature as your favorite figure on the other thread and I really want to get one. Can someone tell me which Creature (Silver Screen or Reg) is better, and what a reasonable price to pay is rght now?

Thanks to all who respond!

I have both and prefer the regular edition. The paint job is excellent. Your chances of finding a regular edition are better, too. I think there were 5000 of the regular(I could be wrong) and only 500 of the SSE. I have no idea what prices these are going for.

I hope you are able to secure yourself one Wor-Gar. They are still about in some stores. I don't think you'll get much change from $150, if any. The few times I have seen one on a store site, they have been asking around that price, or even more.

Be careful when bidding for one on ebay, as you're likely to be up against Lonnie. :lol I have noticed he has had a bid on, every now and then.

Good luck.

I'd also recommend Green Creature Figure. It's one of the best Creature
statue/figure ever created so far. Love the sculpt and paint job on this one. :monkey5
Both Silver edition and regular edition goes for around $100 ~120 on ebay these days.
Pretty good price compare to last year.

Thanks for the support, guys. I do like the Reg Creature better; just thought I should check with the experts first.

I'll try and let you know when I'm bidding on eBay so maybe Lonnie and Lakeshouse will let me get one without sniping me :D

--------------------

EDIT: BTW, there's a reg Creature on eBay now for $40.99 with 2 days to go and 99.5 positive feedback...BUT, the seller has made his feedback private! Not sure I trust it.

Actually, I finally got the regular a few months ago! I got the SSE from Sideshow during a Second Chance offer. I only bid now days just in case one goes low and I bag it cheap to use as trade. Of course, I wouldn't mind having two, but don't worry about me bidding against you... mine are just token bids now that I have one! :D

One down. Two to go. :rotfl

More on topic, but useless information. I found a site that sells 1:1 scale busts of The Creature for around $250, from a mould made from the original mask. Do you think I can find it again? Not interested myself, is probably why I never added the link to my faves.

There are several places you can get a 1/1 bust. They show up on Ebay a lot, and a number of stores( Monsters in Motion foremost) carry them. You can even get a bust of the prototype mask, if that's what you're into. The prices vary, starting around $60-$70. You just have to decide which version you want and how much you can afford. Just do a Google search; you'll find more than you know what to do with...PS

Over at Monsters in Motion they have all sorts of Creature stuff for sale. No Sideshow though.

There is absolutly no discriptions written by the seller.
At least the listing should say the condition of the figure and whether
it's loose or MIB figure. Very suspicious...
Maybe his feedback is private, because the one negative feedback
in last 30days was really bad one.
I wouldn't trust it either.

Personally I like the Silver Screen Creature better which is kind of odd since I usually prefer the color versions. It's probably because it reminds me of the films more than the green Creature. Plus I think it's painted better. Like creecher, I got it off the wait list a while back and had to resort to eBay for the regular version.

Here are some pictures that may help you decide.

Cool. Thanks, Batty! The green creature it is -- gotta have the green.

Green! I have 2 and they are a virtual sculpting masterpiece, Oluf's best work, rubber body suit, etc. just have to have it.

If you are looking on ebay, BE PATIENT! There are about three or four offered on average per week but they are getting scarcer and scarcer. The sales prices now range between $90 and $130. If you are lucky, you can pick one up for between $79 and $90 but 2 were sold for $140 last week with buy it now listings. These are definitely going to go up in price as there is a "Creature From The Black Lagoon" film in the works.

Also, Oluf now has a signature store up and running and will probably/hopefully offer a few of these with signed boxes. I would email him and ask him when and if he's gonna offer them. I have his email address if you need it or you can go to his store site and email him.
