Re: Current discount codes at SSC ***REWARD13 for 300 points (old code)

It's really not very difficult to understand.

What's really bothering me right now is trying to figure out how some people operate a microwave or a dishwasher, or drive a car. ;) Or breath.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC ***REWARD13 for 300 points (old code)

The code applies directly to your account. So add 300 points to you reward point balance immediately without purchase.

It's an amazing promo.

but it says it expires tomorrow, so do I have to use at least $15 in reward points by tomorrow or they take it away, or is that extra $15 now in my account for good (don't have to use it by any certain date)?

I added the REWARD13 code to my account last week and the points are still there for me.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC ***REWARD13 for 300 points (old code)

It's all in jest. I just spent a few hours out shopping in crowds and noise, plus dealing with Costco photo lab on my large format prints (uuuugh!!!!) Feel like pulling my hair out.

Then I come online and read some story about Peter Jackson's second miss with High Frame Rate and the author of the piece says some people consider HFR "too realistic" - what does that even mean? The reason high frame rates look like garbage and "cheap" is because they look fake, not real. They lack motion blur which is prevalent in real life because our eyes just can't keep moving objects perfectly sharp and in focus. There's absolutely no other reason that high frame rates suck. And this technical issue can be remedied. I'm so sick and tired of so-called experts just "not getting it." Ok, time to stop ranting.

The chance to add the code expires.
Once it's in you account it stays.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC ***REWARD13 for 300 points (old code)

The offer (ie. this promotion, aka THE CODE) expires tomorrow. Once the reward points are in your account, they last as long as any other reward points - forever, or until Sideshow cancels reward points or goes out of business from giving away too much margin. I'll give you that Sideshow could word their newsletters a little better in this regard.

Best Thread ever! What are you guys planning on getting with your reward points? Thinking of the Mandarin now…. love the style and tailoring.

I'm hoping for the IM Mark VII Maquette announcement, if that doesn't come in the next six months probably the Big Chap LSB.
Then...I'm out!

They only look odd as you describe when an object is moving quickly across the screen, or the camera pans quickly. For most shots, HFR looks far more realistic than regular film. It was obvious watching TV growing up, for example, that shows shot on video like The Cosby Show and Growing Pains looked more like you were watching people in person on a stage as compared to shows shot on film, like Cheers or Seinfeld, which looked more stylized and less photorealistic. Higher frame rates are more realistic since the eye can comprehend far more frames per second than are present in film.

HFR or not, movie still sucked!

Hoping to get Red Snapper or maybe Igor with these codes!

Please keep the geeky talk to the relevant part of the forum, this is for code hunters only :exactly: :monkey1

Re: Current discount codes at SSC ***REWARD13 for 300 points (old code)

I think I want a MoS Superman... But if I preorder it now I will have to spend whatever rewards points I have and pay for the left over amount when it is about to ship? Or can I keep collecting points and input them when I am ready to pay?

Re: Current discount codes at SSC ***REWARD13 for 300 points (old code)

Keep collecting and hope it's instock. You need to use the points you have when ordering.
May as well wait for this promotion to end.

By the way, I do know Christian Bale wasn't in Fight Club :slap :lol

Re: Current discount codes at SSC ***REWARD13 for 300 points (old code)

I'm using my points to help ease the pain of forking over $200 for a Hoth Luke Dolly.

I keep repeating this, why I don't know. By the time Hoth Luke is released, you might be able to accumulate enough points to pay for more than 50% of the purchase, including shipping.

Moral of the story: don't pre-order this yet, there's plenty of time.
