Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings May code is AVENGE2015

Hey guys... Codes like AVENGE2015.... Can that be used more than once per account? Or on more than one item? Like, could I get two figures for 20% off each?

AVENGE2015 is once per account - a total of $20 off that's it.

Most of the 20% codes will work on multiple eligible items in the same purchase, but only once per account.

Just now learning of the 50% discount code SS sent out. That is some complete crap from them. Why did they only send this to certain people???

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings May code is AVENGE2015

If anyone impulse bought a Bruce Banner with the 50% off and want to unload it, let me know. :)

Probably cause some buy more than others?

SS should give big % off codes to poor people...like me!

They also won't sell some figures to some customers.

Like most, I did not get the coupon from Sideshow. I received a donation from IronFingaz, since we wasn't going to use it, and I put it to good use. Three of the figures are for me, and the armory is for a friend. A coupon like that should not be wasted with ordering just 1 item! I owe IronFingaz a huge favor!!! :rock :rock2

If you're ordering for other people, it was really only cost-effective with the larger items (Armory or Robocop). For the smaller items, the extra shipping costs made it come out about the same as someone buying a figure with a 20% off coupon, double rewards, and free shipping. At least, that's why I think no one wanted to join my order. :dunno

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings May code is AVENGE2015

Just got Heartbreaker and Bruce Banner from the 50% discount and they gave me a FREE Play Arts Kai General Zod figure! Kind of a terrible figure but still a free one. I didn't know Sideshow gave out free figures once in a while.
Received my order today, but got no freebies. I didn't think I would. There wasn't any room left in the box! Three 12" figures packed out, together in one box, and the armory in its own box. Oh well. I wouldn't be interested in Zod anyway...

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings May code is AVENGE2015

I have a Zod and he's pretty awesome. If I had that coupon, I probably would've gotten a thing or two. Sideshow hates me, though.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings May code is AVENGE2015

Just used that to order TDW Loki for about $174 after reward points. I have the staff from Bruce Banner since this version is seriously lacking in accessories.

Maybe I'm missing something but how do you apply points and a discount code? Checkout isn't giving both options. I'm thinking about nabbing Silver Centurion.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings May code is AVENGE2015

When the person was talking about $174 after reward points they were factoring in the extra rewards they received from ordering the figure and mentally took it off the price. They did not actually pay $174.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings May code is AVENGE2015

I never count reward points when considering the price. They're nice to have later on and all but they aren't immediate savings.

This.

And those people will, again, substract the same reward points from the retail price when they'll boast about the price they paid for their Hulkbuster Armor. :wink1:

Save the double booking for your taxes. ;)

:exactly: I'm aware of the double counting that goes on with several people here. I only count the reward points when I earn them, which means I get really antsy when it's time to use them (I have to be good with the price before I even use my points). Well, except when I get free rewards (like during Spook). That I count as free money.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings May code is AVENGE2015

If you're comparison shopping it pays to look at the rewards you'll earn to see if it's worth the time to buy from SSC, but when calculating the price paid for any one figure, I always count only the money spent.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings May code is AVENGE2015

I take the rewards points into consideration for purchases. The discount is a real value to the purchase of figures from Sideshow. Especially when Sideshow offers double and triple points on items. Given those discounts are shelf warmers at times, but it is a real discount to a future purchase that allows you to pay less for a item. The value is realized once you have put the points to a new item and if enough points are accumulated then the discount can be substantial. I'll be getting HT Hulkbuster for $350 bucks after my points are applied next year. It also depends on the volume of figures you purchase from Sideshow directly. Those that do not purchase many items from them do not value the points as much as others that buy higher volumes.

Some may say well yeah but you have to buy something else to use the points but to that I ask is this purchase now going to be the last collectible you are ever going to by from Sideshow? I mean if that's the case it is a trivial amount to go boo hoo over given the amount of money spent on most collections anyways.

We are all Freaks here, aren't we? :wink1: We'll be back for more, again and again...

That's actually a better way of looking at things. With mine, I've essentially put a small deposit towards whatever I buy next, which means I have to buy something next. Not a good cycle to be stuck in.
