Re: Current discount codes at SSC: waiting for April code

Hmm trying to decide if I want to use the April coupon on Nick Fury from The Winter Soldier or Cap from Civil War.
Go with Fury. Sideshow should have him sometime next month and Cap won't be released in HK for a while.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: waiting for April code

If I could use my rewards points with this coupon I would so snatch up a new figure but sending a"coupon" that barely coners the cost of shipping is not very enticing to me. Does anyone else feel this way?

So you'd rather pay for shipping then? Maybe it's just me, but I don't mind spending the 2 seconds it takes to cut and paste the code to save on shipping plus an additional few $.

Let me guess, you'd turn down a glass of water when you're thirsty because it doesn't have any taste? :rotfl Or because you know you'd need three of them to completely quench yourself?

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: waiting for April code

No I wouldn't. I guess what I'm saying is saving $20 on a $280+ figure, statue, etc. is not enough incentive to get me to purchase something that I wasn't planning on purchasing beforehand. I understand companies aren't in the business of producing items just to sell them for a huge discount but it doesn't feel like enough of a deal to make me whip out my wallet. If I could at least apply a modest amount of reward points in conjunction with a coupon code I would at least feel like I'm coming out of it with a deal, and therefore might be interested in picking up something I wouldn't have considered at this time. I'm not rich so I have to be somewhat selective with my purchases, especially with their continued price hikes, so I end to having to hold if in purchasing something that I would like to have now versus something I really have to have now. Just my personal opinion here and in no way am I trying to attack Sideshow or any member of this forum

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: waiting for April code

Purchasing stuff you had no intention of buying is never a good move in the longrun, regardless of any discount.

Oh, and we all would like to combine discounts :)

Not necessarily something I never intended to purchase, just simply something I didn't intend to purchase right now. Example: I really want the Hot Toys Kylo Ren figure, however I have trouble justifying spending $250 (including shipping) on that figure because I don't personally feel it's worth that much. So if I could pick one up for say $180-$200 because of a deal, I would. Which I could do if I could combine rewards points with coupons. I understand where they are coming from in not allowing this because rewards points is not something they even have to give, it's a loyalty bonus and is basically free money they are giving me because of my last purchases. Since I don't want to hijack this thread anymore, this is where I'm ending my discussion.

Totally rational, makes a lot more sense than the first comment. :) I generally don't impulse buy collectibles and I keep a list of what I'm looking for and releases I'm intending to purchase in the future, so when it comes time to pull the trigger on something, I use a coupon if one's available. This has the effect of getting me to order from SSC when I might otherwise place an order elsewhere. I never buy something just because it's on sale (which I mention quite frequently here, even in jest - Electro 200% discount, still not worth it)

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: waiting for April code

REFUN25 is a new code for $25 off select items at SS until the 21st.
Sorry, not tech savy enough to figure out how to post the link.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: waiting for April code

At first I was like.. Haha, Armory. But then I was like, OMFG, Chitauri! Bahahahaha.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: waiting for April code

So I want to get Rey&BB-8, Batman (probably unarmored) and Wonder Woman.
I have about $118 in points. This may sound like a dumb question, but I am wondering which to use the Reward Points on, and which to wait for codes for.

I know a lot of you are "veterans" / long time HT buyers. Is ther a best way to go about it? Any suggestions? Or does it even matter?

Thanks

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: waiting for April code

Because they're all pre-order, don't use it on any, IMO. Nothing wrong with burning a coupon code if you're not going to use one anyway, but don't drop NRD on figures that aren't likely to sell out. Just wait until they're shipping.

Are you wanting all 3 as soon as possible? If so, use the rewards on the most expensive one and then use a monthly code on the other two. That'll take off shipping plus a little extra.

If you're in no hurry, Batman and Wonder Woman might get discounts months after they're released.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: waiting for April code

Times done changed... Last year's refund code was for 20%.
