Re: Current discount codes at SSC: List of Spook codes in 1st post

yeah, gosh man. sucks to not get more free stuff.

Yeah , if they didn't encourage people not to sleep or leave their screens , and force you to shamelessly promote their company and products the whole time ... yeah a newsletter 2$ is totally worth it >.>

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: List of Spook codes in 1st post

I think it's because there aren't anymore boob gifs. This, no more codes.

The events do link up , maybe it should be tried by a daring collector. FOR SCIENCE!

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: List of Spook codes in 1st post

Maybe next year we do two Spook threads in the Sandbox: a PG version free of gifs and an R-rated version where gifs are actually encouraged and agreed upon when partaking in the thread. That way the mods can tell the people complaining to just stay in the PG Spook thread.

The weird thing is they said they had a bunch of winners to announce on Twitter and then nothing...

And what happened to Chicky's Twitter? She bailed out on it days ago, it's usually impossible to keep up with her there.

The gifs were technically going against the board rules. :lol I think the only reason we were allowed to post them for so long was because no mods could be bothered trying to keep up with the thread. Just my theory.

I'm quite happy with the promos and free RP I've collected. Never said otherwise. :)

Well, it's not exactly "free" if you have to constantly watch and wait for the code to appear (from quite a few different places) - staying up late, constantly distracting you from family/work activities, driving etc. - and then be in a position to very quickly enter it within the really narrow validity time.

If it was a code that had a day or more of validity, that people could discover and enter on their own time, it would be "getting free stuff.":dunno

There is some "work" involved in getting these codes, even if it's the kind of work that can be paid for by a $2 or $3 discount; which are the most common codes we've gotten this year.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: List of Spook codes in 1st post

There's nothing wrong with being disappointed in only getting $2 of RP in one day.

Yeah, this is my first Spook, and I must say I'm not all that impressed tbh.

Mostly small amounts + mega short validity period + constant watching = bit of a pain.

It's a constant distraction for the sake of what will likely - hopefully - for me be only about $25 (I missed a couple of the big codes.)

I agree with both of you. On the one hand, I'm grateful for the event as a whole and the opportunity to score some discounts, but it is a lot of work and a $2 code over this much time sorta feels like they're not keeping up their end. As dumb as it sounds, I've lost a lot of sleep this week because I was 'tempted' with rewards. I just keep telling myself they'll make up for it with a hefty code any minute now, but who knows..

The crazy thing is, it's a promotional event with very clear and up front rules about how to do it. It's up to the individual if they want to do the "work" for it. Let's not act like we are entitled that Sideshow has to cater to every single customer who wants to participate. They don't have to do anything at all. This is how they choose to do it, it's got implications of free all over it though in an expensive hobby, which makes people's thoughts more illogical.

Sideshow has done an excellent job all around yet again. Spook is one of the best times of the year for collectors!

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: List of Spook codes in 1st post

I just think people have a right to be upset and complain , the carrot on the stick sales pitch isn't a worthwhile endeavor for most people at all. I've slept just fine and only missed one code this year.

But even between the 50$ in free RP and 50$ and free shipping off Doom , sideshow still made a good amount of money off me in one day . Which is the only reason they do this aside from the free promotion they get for all these contests and **** .

I'm not hating on them , it's just ****** tactics this year

if you're choosing RP points over your family, then I think that may be you're problem. not SS's.

if your disappointed in free money, regardless of amount, wow.

Sorry but that sounds more of a personal issue...
