They're counting on there being at least one winner, and it's better for their bottom line to only give out $300 in total. Plus if the game starts with 1000 or more players and half are eliminated with every question, mathematically there should be approximately one winner. Everyone losing would be much more of a surprise than one or two winners. So...yeah. The game technically is rigged.

I swear they USED TO also run a lotto at the end of this game, but now that I think about it, they haven't done so with at least the last 2 WLoDs. I always found this one to be the most tedious of all the interactive games.
