Maybe they gave us the $5 for registering in order to distract us from the fact we have not received the $2.

I think they're short of cash and are using the fast expiring reward codes to encourage sales sooner rather than later.

As for the missing $2, if they have another look down the back of the sofas in the executive lounge they might be able to scrape a few bucks together.

If we don't get the $2 before this new event starts the chats will be flooded with questions about it so they'd be wise to take care of it this week. We collectors aren't always that disciplined when it comes to spending in this hobby, but when we're owed rewards ($2, $20 or $200, it doesn't matter how much) we can be quite persistent/obnoxious about it lol.
