I think the whole contest was convoluted from the beginning.

No mention of needing a card at first, then they extended the deadline and now I can't even find the submissions that won grand prize and best cake.

At least I have a cool picture of my puppy that everyone loved.

Sucks I didn't win anything but the cake tastes good. Though usually when I want to eat cake I don't spend an hour decorating it--I just bake it and eat the damn thing.

FYI the contest was random, as is pretty clear from the grand prize winner. All you had to do is take a photo of you wearing a cape, or eating a piece of cake. Not sure many people got that however.
