I recently completed a set of highly detailed custom droids. After a while, its amazing how you forget they were originally made by Hasbro.

C-3PO:
1. Totally disassembled, sanded, test fitted, prepped, resprayed, and matte sealed.
2. Details included 7 shades of gold and bronze acrylic wash so that the color shifts and reflects light and doesn't appear just plain flat gold.
3. all joints were painted on the inside, even the back of his knees
4. actual metal wires were hand painted, woven and drilled neatly into the body. Stratigically placed so that they catch the light, avoid "spaghetti look" and streamline his waist.

R2-D2:
1. Totally disassembled, sanded, test fitted, prepped, and matte sealed.
2. Complete repaint
3.Electronic light up feature
4. Actual metal leg wires were braided, painted and drilled into each leg
5. overall worn "sandy version to accompany his counterpart
6. many numerous other details on this little guy!

Heres the rest. I have no idea why the loaded this way. Oh well Ill stick to painting. lol:peace

Those look great man... especially C-3PO; that's the best repaint of him I've seen. Pity his head is a shaped a bit odd (the 12" Hasbo always reminded me of his animated look) as the rest of him looks very nice.

Thanks guys. I thought about filling the holes on 3PO but the pieces are finished and painted before he's assembled. May have to pick up a loose test mule to try it out on! Great ideas mate!

Very impressive! You've added a lot of depth to the figures with your paint work and mods :rock

Thanks MarfMaster. I've been on a painting frenzy this month. 2 R2's, that R5-D4, and w 3PO. Lol this set will probably end up in the commerce section a not the bay as usual. A lot of time and love went into them and I want them to go to a fellow freak.

Heres some of my earlier repainted droids and Jabba's custom built steps. With the exception of my recent R2 and 3PO, my whole collection and customs have found happy homes to fellow freaks.

Hey freaks!
I just wanted to show you guys my new C-3PO version 2.0. This one is electronic and talks! I should be done with him by the weekend.:yess:
