Hello all,

I've been perusing this forum for quite some time but this if my first official post. I'd like to share a custom project I've put together with you all. Rather than go through the trouble of re-posting a ton of images I'm just going to provide a link to the thread on StatueForum so you can all catch up there. Going forward I'll post new updates directly here.

Enjoy!

I've so seen this diorama long ago on Averone YouTube channel...:lol Is it finally going to get 3D printed out. Last I heard it was going to be in 1/5 scale.

Incredible.
Just simply incredible work.

Ok, I do have a few questions though.
I understand the digital sculpting, 3-D modeling aspect of these pieces however, I don't get how you "printed" them.
Does there actually exist a machine that "prints' out 3-D models? I've never heard of anything like that before. Are those statues then made out of paper?
This is all very new to me so I apologize if this is well-known information to others.

If you type in 3D printing into YouTube you can watch endless videos about it. They are really cool so I suggest you check them out!

That is a thing of beauty, can i ask what program was used to do the WIPs?

I know Z Brush is a popular program for digital artists so that could be it. The artist is Khurram Alavi and I'm not quite sure what he uses to create his amazing works of art.

Yup Alex is a friend of mine and his expertise on custom statues was instrumental in me putting together my first commission and hopefully there will be plenty more to come.

As RaZaTrOn said you can find lots of info on YouTube regarding these processes. What you see pictured in my thread over on SF is the master print and I'm not quite sure what that is made out of. The final cast will be high quality polystone/resin. My apologies, I specialize in ideas and art direction not the technicalities of production so I'm not even sure if there is a difference b/tw "polystone" and "resin." If anyone has any input I'd love to learn a bit.

Thanks for looking guys and stay tuned for further updates and pics posted directly here on SSF!

Yeah I was trying to join in on this commission but never heard anything back from Alex. He said that he told you but I guess you guys have it all handle.
