lol. im not starting ****. im just confused because i haven't seen any posts that i believe was "vicious" and JAKC said " some users say about I dont respect beto for publish it." no one has said anything about him not respecting beto. hotslayer73 said "responeded to your PM , due to the artist involved and out of respect for him." which i take as that he has only responded to JAKC's PM because he (hotslayer) respects beto. Now i dont know what was said in those pms but JAKC's said "users" which means more than one person has said he doesnt respect betos work. So unless hotslayer and atleast one other user has sent him a PM saying he doesn't respect beto than he is clearly mistaken

I don't know what to say dude, recast or not I just wanted to see what he did with it and the paint apps and his work on putting it together, I understand why people might get steamed about buying recasts but it happens so it's not this dudes fault but I can appreciate great work when I see it and he did a great job, seen the pic through pm and some great work indeed

Hey. Yeah he did an awesome job on the paint. Figure looked awesome. Thing is he took the pictures down off his own accord. No one demanded he take them off. Ppl just wanted to point out he purchased a recast and explain ways to buy the genuine thing rather than a copy.

How do you tell when a head is a recast? Any signs to be aware of other than knowing the artist doesn't sell on ebay?

Its usually hard to tell but the colour of the casting material is usually a give away and also look at the sells other items. If they are selling alot of blank headsculpts they will all be recasts. Beto charges $100+ for his blank sculpts yet ppl on ebay sell them for around $60. Another good way of finding recasts. No one will sell a blank headsculpt for almost half what they paid

Well maybe you can help ME out then cause I would give my right nut for a Jason goes to hell beto sculpt, and I wouldn't buy a recast cause God knows I hate a hypocrite, think you could help me out cause if my memory serves me correctly you talk to beto don't you? I can't get any responses from him so maybe you can help a guy out and help me get that Jason goes to hell sculpt cause after seeing the paint apps 8-bit did I am on a mission to get one!

join the line buddy LOL ive been looking for one for years now. for some reason beto wont offer it. Im assuming its because its looks to be one of his only sculpts that hasnt been recast yet and if he starts to offer it for sale it will end up being recasted and sold on ebay. He might offer it one day but for now we all have to sit on our hands and wait...

Honestly with the Freddy 2 head if its a loose head it's a recast Beto only sold the part 2 head with the set they were only 2 heads that came from Beto that were loose that I know about and those guys are not selling

Please post your pics, your Jason paint was excellent. Chalk it up to experience, its hard to get the lay of the land when you're new, especially when it comes to custom work and so many deceptive sellers trying to act like they have originals.

Wow eh some people just go off the deep end and go way to personal about things, we're all here on the board collecting the same things and people are free to buy whatever they want, the op in particular didn't know it was a recast so cut the guy some slack and I hear you on the $1000.00 plus figures, sometimes it's not a matter of weather you can afford them or not it's a matter of justifying spending that kind of money on one figure, 3 or 4 hot toys or 1 custom? Unless that figure will complete your life in every way then go for it but sometimes it's just not worth that kind of money, just my .02

You come off alittle rude in posts from other threads and this one. "Recasted Sculpt MEH bolded in red" imo is alittle impolite. thats why he should stick to PM's (just saying)

people do drop top doller for beto's figure but do you really think recasters will ever stop? If someone closes someones ebay account cause of recasting another one will pop up no matter what. not what people want to hear but imo its true

recast police is pretty funny since you where the first one to post "where did you get that headsculpt?" but mine really did come from beto

The one ebay account that sells lots of recasts has like over 2,000 feedback so I don't think anyone has shut that one down, now please someone sell me a JASON GOES TO HELL SCULPT

Well I think on it and decide to republish the pictures for the PM I receive from the great users I find here... Thanks to all.

But its very important to say I never buy the famous item thinking its a recast, I buy like an original item and work hard on it for a good result for the great respect I feel to the artist. For me its one of the bests and I tent to do a work enough good for this incredible sculpt.

I just want to clear some things up for some of the newer collectors to better help you along with this side of the hobby. With regard to Beto and Lupita, interest in there custom art products is reaching levels that are becoming increasingly difficult to manage with respect to supply and demand but they manage to do it and do it well with only one true exception that must be followed by all, that's PATIENCE. If your new to the methods of how they operate their business model than that's fine because we've all been there but once you experience the thrill, quality and craftsmanship of what it feels like to own and hold there products inhand, you'll understand fully why it's worth the wait and worth supporting their efforts.

The recasting issue has been debated countless times and there is no solution to it other than to collectively stop supporting it as a method for others to profit from it's practice. Copying is always gonna be around, but immitation is the sincerest form of flattery and I suppose Beto sees it that way too because he's really not concerned with the recast of his goods as much as he is concerned about his customers and friends spending their hard earned money on an inauthentic product. Now some people (collectors) don't care about that kind of stuff and that's fine, thats another category of 1/6 hobbyist but I've never seen Beto treat any of his customers differently or turn someone down on a product list because they "mistakingly" bought a recasted head or whatever. It actually happens all the time before you eventually find your way to what's the true genuine article.

The frustration comes into play when you have collectors who are true to the art of this and play by the rules (if such things exist). Some of us have waited literally years from idea to inception to completion on some of these products, and the real honor goes to people like Beto and Lupita who commit themselves to spend that kind of time on these projects, seeing them through year after year unselfishly just for what...so that our personal nostalgia can be fulfilled? I mean when you think of it that way, how do you put a PRICE or TIME SCHEDULE on that. No one, NO ONE in the World is making custom products at this level of quality the way that Beto and Lu approach these projects and implore their talents, methods and artistic ethics. It's very real for them and only possible on their time and on their terms.

With that said, Beto and Lu have always catered to their fans by offering newer products often revisiting the classics to satisfy our demand for it, but always pushing the limit of what a custom figure is by experimenting with really innovative ideas and applying them.

Have patience guys and support the creators not the imitators.

- Hat: I paint and add a real fabric strep to make like the classic hat.

- Body: a basic slim body from ActionToys.

- Pants: wnknown and weathered by me.

- Glove: from the Sideshow figure, rescilpted and repainted by me.

- Left hand: from the Sideshow figure repainted by me.

Thanks man, trust me I dont tent to support the imitators, I repeat, I want to support beto and respect like a great creator but I buy it thinking its an original item. The description say "Head by betomatali" and I simply think this its true and buy for my own collection and use. Not for shell... I know its hard for the peope who pay a lot of money for an original item but I only want to make my own figure paying for it... Now I know about the recast and no buy more items to this users at eBay.
