now that i look at it, i can't decide whether or not it needs more of an orange color with the yellow... what do you guys think?

If I may give my opinion, I think it does need a bit more of an orange color, especially if you compare it with the color of Wolverine in the diorama.

I think Sideshow got his color in the diorama spot on, and to see that in this custom piece would be just amazing. I've always wondered how the Wolvie PF would look like in his brown costume, and this statue right here proves what I always thought - that this PF would be kick ass in his brown costume!!! Congrats on an awesome custom Wolverine PF.

Looks awesome. What did he do to remove the shoulder "blades," cut/sand them off, or just fill it in down to arms?

If you're taking critiques, I'd say the Maroon/brown of upper torso is a shade too dark, needs a little more reddish.

F'n awesome....i think the colors are just perfect !!! Wow...

I've alreadu talked to Saul about my comiquette conversion to X-Force version but a little low in funds right now.

Loosk great J.

a better shot...

i haven't even seen this in person yet and i have a feeling that this will be my favorite piece ever!

he used a dremel tool to cut/grind off the shoulders, then completely resculpted the upper part of his suit. the final touch-ups have been made with the colors and you'd be hard pressed to find a better wolverine, imho.

he did end up adding a bit more orange to the lighter part of the suit and took the whole custom thing a step further and completely repainted the heads and made them both more realistic looking.

i've never been so excited abou getting a 'new' piece :banana
i'm not sure someone could/would pay enough to get me to part with this bad boy.

i really never even considered a custom x-force repaint, but that would be pretty badass. actually, with all the faux bronze pieces that bowen is coming out with, i've started thinking about a future project of a faux bronze regular wolverine comiquette :naughty

unfortunately, priorities come first...

It looks good but something about it just looks a little off to me.

Not sure what it is though....I have always preferred the brown version for sure though. Maybe too much brown in the chest and shoulder area and not enough orange/yellow?

Something more like this?

It could just be the angle too.

Regardless, sweet piece!!!

I think the problem is with the photos. There is far too much light coming off of the background, which then silhouettes the statue, blacking out the browns. I think this is more what the coloration is going to look like, which should be really nice:

i think it's mainly the angle...

my first reaction was 'holy ^^^^, that's a ton of brown' but once i saw it from the different angles it looked perfect. with the way the statue is posed and the angle of these shots, you see more of his shoulders than his chest.

believe me, this thing is about as good as it gets. i'll post more pics once i get to see it in person... i really can't wait.

btw, there may just be another custom wolverine comiquette or two in time for christmas/new year.

yeah, Saul reassured me of how much ass this thing is going to kick :D
he also added just a touch more orange to the lighter part of the suit and said it was about perfect.
