scottyb: Cool, thanks for the offer, will let you know No degassing, just pouring from a height to eliminate the bubbles. For my second go I'll probably try painting on some silicone in those troublesome areas and then quickly pour the rest.

Marf: Thanks man! That's quite a compliment Rahmier's Drake head is awesome. I don't think I could mod the hair like he could which is why I thought it easier to make him from scratch. I'm looking to offer this one out once finished and all my other project runs out the way

Thanks rhboyd it's a real challenging likeness as most people know. I've been tweaking this on and off for a while now and it still looks a bit off to me.

Rogerbee: I measured the ears and there does seem to be about 1/4 of a mm of shrinkage.

The head was sized to fit the DID tuxedo, though I actually want to shrink this head down about 5% for it to fit the Very Cool tux. I bought some Smooth-On Mold Max 3 today, so hoping to try and make a shrink mold with mineral spirits. Hopefully not another wasted mold as this stuff is pretty pricey. Will try and document my progress. What do folks here think of the Mold Max silicone? Feel free to leave more tips and tricks here

To me, the first head looks too large and the second looks too small, somewhere in between the two would be the golden size. Head to body size should be the important consideration. The Verycool tux is small and fits smaller bodies. TT's are the most common bodies so the sculpt should be scaled around it. You have the skills to really pull this off and it's great that you are willing to take things on board.

So I'm taking a break from Indy and back on Drake. Want to wrap up the head and start the hair.

I'm starting to see a bit of Harrison creeping in here too! You can be as creative as you like here as he isn't based on a known actor.

no no.. just a hint of him... like his jawline... bits and pieces... a pastiche of the Drake look... a little ford... a little fillion.
would be a fun alternative!

Thanks guys. There is a wee bit of Fillion in there as well as referencing the latest version of Drake in the trailer. He probably reminds you of HF as that's the base sculpt I used

Yours is way better. Their sculpt looks more like Jim Morrison than it does Harrison Ford.

So reworked the face proportions again on Indy. I think I have HF look more nailed down with this version. Just a few more tweaks to do and then modeling in the hair (Right click and open image in new tab for bigger version)
