Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

That was a joke about HT Roger... and yeah hopefully the ML will eventually see the light of day...or until the next "definitive" sculpt is released

Shhh! keep it a secret guys! ;D

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

Well, considering all the fuss there was over the Conan head and talk of licensing, I'd take that with a pinch of salt if I were you. A definite case of believe it when you see it.

Oh definitely that's the approach you have to take with her "company"

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

Thanks guys :)

I havent painted anything before so starting to learn. Im still not confident with an airbrush and cant be bothered with all the cleaning, even though they give fantastic results, so maybe at a later time. I have been inspired by Darren C.s videos so will see how I get on with the brush. I tried the army painter barbarian flesh spray primer and it gives a really nice skin basecoat if you are looking for a nice even finish. The camera on my phone doesnt do the colour justice!

Nice start so far on the paintjob! Can't wait to see this develop.

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

I started painting the skin on bond today. My first experience with painting a head and its pretty fun stuff. Hours seem to pass like minutes! I bought a load of Vallejo paints. Really nice to work with and non toxic. Tube paints suck and just made everything shiny. I also used pastels and lots of drybrushing. Though NEVER use plasticote products! The matt varnish (new can) sprayed like a heavy mist and cocked up my hard work :( Will have to see if I can sand the varnish lumps down on the nose and hope I dont rub off the paint. Still needs more work on the ears and an overall coat of brown tan and freckles.

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

A bit more progress on the paint today. Started painting in the eyes and lips. Though this is where I finish up on this one as I've given the sculpt shorter hair so it's back to square one. I did a quick photoshop for fun to see where I was going with it.

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

Cheers guys. I painted in the eyes today and eyebrows. Though the eyebrows have zero detail due to not coming out in the old print, so had to fudge them with shade. I bumped up the detail so should come out in the new print as well as shorter haircut.

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

Looking good, although I think you might want to darken the hair and eyebrows a bit more. He might be technically a blonde, but from a distance and in most pics his hair reads more as a light brown.

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

Yeah like Mark Hamil's

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

Looks great pal. Such a good likeness. And great First paint job. You are one talented dude!

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

Thanks all. lol I hadnt even started the hair at that point :D

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

Beastmaster, please PM if you ever decide to sell that DC Bond head. Or do a commission on one. I have a DC Bond head I need painted but I like your sculpt better.

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

Sorry if this has already been asked...but are you going to sell casts? If so, how much for an "unpainted" one...I'm a pretty decent painter myself.

Re: CUSTOMIZINGS: Indy • Solo • Drake • Bond etc.‏

Hey all, I will try my best to keep this thread alive :D been super busy, though I have been working on a few bits in my lunch hour. I managed to do a test print of my latest indy head. The hat rim will be thinner. The bad fish eye lens on my phones camera makes his head look too thin but it's much wider than that.
