The other thing to think about, is the SW Customs section has really developed a comraderie that inspires each other. They are often working on similar projects, giving inspiration to each other, helping each other source parts, etc. The same can be said with the GI Joe section and their customs.

If the forum was seperated by topic, I believe it would increase the developement and growth of each of those topics.

Great discussion! I have to say WGP gets just as much traffic in both the DC section as the customs section, so right now double posting is necessary, though it makes me feel very guilty.

On the other hand, newbies coming to this Customs thread will have absolutely no idea Star Wars has it's own custom section in Star Wars. Realistically, why should it, because THIS is the main customs section. And call me a dork, but the SW specific custom section is pretty easy to miss when you go to the Star Wars area too.

Right now, continuing to double post seems the best bet, but with modifications. Changes I would suggest to make things more streamline and noticible would be:

A) The customs thread really needs a sticky that there are also specific license custom sections for each license on their respective pages.

B) This may be too much work but I thought it would be great when you click on "Star Wars" (and other sections) to have the drop down option of going to either the "SW custom section" or "general section"
to also get the idea out it exists there.

Lastly, I do have OCD (laugh) and I was thinking as I and other studios make all of these slew of interest threads, maybe in the main customs section there can be a sticky section where the customs studios who sell things can each can have a master thread to log what they have going on over-all (with links to it), and to show off past projects (with links to that), so people who want to follow a studio can see what they have going on in one stop? I think there are enough studios now to warrant it.

How about if at the top of this customs forum there would be links to all of the other custom subsections? That way if someone comes into the custom section without realizing the specific licenses have their own place they'll see right off the bat how to get there.

The problem with the one stop shop is people are more interested in subject matter, not with customs in general.

I don't care at all about custom comic book figures for example, but I do like custom SW and LOTR and Indy and GI Joe.

Its easier to be able to go to the specific forum to find that. That said, I'm mostly a watcher of customs and not a contributor.

Eh... I only visit the custom forum. I may have no interest in ever owning any horror figures, but that doesn't mean I don't click on the topics here to look at them.

I'd have to go all over this place to see all the great work people do? I don't like that one bit. Double post like Silver Surfer said but keep this here please!

Perfectly right, keep it the way it is now.

That's a great point, and what customs should be about. Lately it seems like it's custom artists capitalizing on the latest and greatest character craze. I'm not saying there's something wrong with that, but it should definitely be divided from the comradeship you're talking about. That sounds like the heart of customs.
