Hi Susala

Any news on the hair? Have you sculpted a hair style yet?

Any idea when this sculpt will be made available?

Keep up the stunning work!!!

Hair, hairless, doesn't matter. This sculpt is so far beyond great. I'm so busting to paint it.

I´m not happy with the hair yet, but I can´t figure out what´s wrong with it. Need help!

You are so close! I think the top needs thinned out a bit too. If you look at this photo, you can see how far back Craig's hairline has receded.

I don't envy you, it is absolutely a hard hairstyle to figure out. Don't be afraid to make the hair flat on his head. He is losing his hair, so he grows what he has left into long tufts and then combs it into a hairstyle.

Don't get frustrated, I think you are almost there.

I pushed the hairline back a bit on the left hand side, and "flattened" the top by taking a bit of material off on the very top of his head.

I also come back to this photo of the HT John Connor. I love how "short" his hair is. This is too short for Daniel Craig, but somewhere in between John Connor and your hair would be perfect. Maybe you could flatten the material you already have on the head and then re-sculpt the lines in the hair. Just trying to throw out suggestions. I really have no idea what I am talking about. :)

While I like the enthusiasm and effort, I don't think collector49's photoshop job is quite right, it makes him look pretty flat topped Susala's is much closer. And personally, I don't think the John Conner head is a good reference for this hair at all, sorry! it's a buzz cut and the sides are much shorter than the length of Craigs hair in that photo. But I do think the comments of it being slightly too puffy on top is correct.

I think we will help Susala make the best Craig likeness yet! I love the constructive feedback from this thread!

So come up with something better. I've read your opinion on other head sculpts and you and I don't see eye to eye on anything. Don't just disagree, supply reference.

The changes are (clockwise from upper left)

Original
Top of hair trimmed only.
Top of hair flattened.
Top of hair trimmed, front hairline altered.

My opinion is that the front of the hairline is throwing it off. Craig has receding hair, and it is leaving him with a little island of hair left on top of his head. No matter how much he combs it forward, you can still see it. So to be accurate the head is going to have to show that.

Gladly, here's my take. Also no need to take it personally, it wasn't meant as an attack, the more opinions the better the product will be. All suggestions will help Susala no doubt

Anyway Susala was really close IMO. All I did was lessen the volue on the top, make the hair in the front a little less combed up but more to the side, and fill out the right ear side just above the ear ever so slightly.

Susala im on board for one of these once you're finished!

I didn't take it personally. Your original post just didn't add anything to the conversation.

And Side-By-Side
craighairgray2.jpg

collector49's suggestion of the HT Christian Bale hair is a suggetsion in the wrong direction - Craig's hair is longer on top than anything in that sculpt would be useful for, in terms of reference.

While it was a touch spikier on top in Casino Royale:

it's flatter and longer on top in QoS, almost bangs sweeping down toward the left of the sculpt.

And please, please don't use premiere or paprazzi photos as reference; I want to see a Bond sculpt from the film, not from the press junket. It makes a difference!

I love the look on the side by side images. Sus, run with it, heck, get to casting. I'm beginning to run out of sculpts to paint & I neeeeeed this one

you need to really slim down the look of the head. tighter! get rid of the hair strokes on the sides and top. looks too thick and brushed. he has very thin hair and its shaped much like his head. also tighten up the sideburns. heres a quick redo . so close girl ! dont give up! :)

I agree with this. His hair is THIN. It looks long because he grows it out, but there isn't a whole lot of it there, and it clings close to his head. Just like the hair on the sideburns on the John Connor sculpt. I would like to see an attempt at making the hair like John Connor's, slightly thicker on top, with longer strokes carved in the hair. I think it would work.

Carson pulled off something very similiar on his Blade Runner/Deckard sculpt...
