Punisher isn’t bad, it’s just nowhere near as good as Daredevil. None of the other Marvel Netflix shows are.

Punishers best moments are in Daredevil.

Still a good watch though, but Jigsaw was weak.

punisher show spent way too much time on that special agent woman. too much. and jigsaw was annoying.

.... and jigsaw was annoying.
The main villain's face scarred for life, is a trope as old as dirt, yet when it works it works.
Jigsaw, needed to be properly jigsawed.

Literally as in both physically and mentally, yes the pulps and comics often did things blatantly on the nose, with themed names and visuals, that's part of what made them memorable and iconic, like with the costumes themes and logos, often seems the show runners don't actually like the source material they are adapting, think they are above it.

The only thing I really didn't like about S1 of Punisher was tying the plot into his family's murders. They already convoluted the murders in DD with the undercover sting operation stuff, they didn't need to add yet another layer to it. Should've just had the plot be about Frank finding out that his military unit got up to some pretty nasty stuff, that he was lied to about his missions, making him complicit in it, and Frank wanting revenge for it (with an underlining suggestion that it's all just an excuse for him to start fighting again).

S2 was... okay. I think it got stuck in an awkward position wherein they already greenlit it but Netflix wanted to move on from their Marvel shows by the time it started production, so nobody really cared and the budget got slashed to ribbons. I'll always like Jigsaw's final scene, though, where
Jigsaw tries to have a final bonding moment with Frank but Frank just casually shoots him and walks away.

Re-watching Punisher season 1.

I remember liking it with some complaints that it was a little slow and my own pet peeve that he is too small for the part but I will say this on the rewatch his intensity and acting abilities makes up for his small stature, plus his broken nose goes a long way making him the Punisher we all love to love lol

Season 2 I’m staying away from that is unanimously hated, it was bad.
I only watched S2 of The Punisher for the first time a month or so ago. While it didn't reach the level the first season did, I can't say I hated it. I did think it felt a bit directionless at times. Like they didn't know what way the story was going. For instance, we got quite a bit of backstory on Alexa Davalos' character in the first episode, only to never see her again after a brief appearance in episode 2. She isn't an A-list actress but she isn't a nobody either, so I figured she'd be back at some point but nope... Never seen again.

I truly felt like "is this it" when Jigsaw removed his mask for the first time and he basically has some scratches. He's still a pretty boy. The whole idea about the scars mostly being mentally, didn't really work.
