Fair enough but just speaking for myself I grew up in the 70s and 80s all I had were comic books to show me their swings through New York City so my brain is wired to accept DD swinging like Spider-Man.CGI was a bit iffy. We’re just not at the point where we can put full CGI humans into a live action environment. The movements are just off, there’s no weight to them.
I wish I could turn that part of my brain off and just enjoy what I’m seeing, but I’m not built like that.
I have a friend that never notices weird CGI like that but it sticks out like a sore thumb to me. I’m jealous in a way.
I dunno, I don’t need Daredevil to be doing CGI flips and jumps and swinging through the air. It’s not a comic book or cartoon, and he’s not Spider-Man.
When you look at comic characters like Elektra, Daredevil, Spidey, The Hand, Black Cat ... they inhabit the city's rooftops like they're these fantastic creatures, moving effortlessly through another world. It does feel fluid and weightless but it doesn't translate well into live action.
Particularly the style of the Daredevil series. Here is a literally bone-crunching, brutal and grounded street combat show, but suddenly they want to take us to the rooftops comic-book style. It's jarring and dissonant. The visual language just breaks, never mind the poor execution. Theoretically the CG *could* sell it but they don't have the time or the budget to invest in that level of perfection.
In 1994 we saw Brandon Lee as The Crow bounding across rooftops and leaping over obstacles. That less flashy but no less dramatic approach was believable and would have worked for Daredevil, updated for 2025 with maybe some improved choreo and tricks. That wouldn't have taken us out of the show.
That'd be fine but even the 300 million Spider-Man movie looked like dog **** most of the time.Fair enough but just speaking for myself I grew up in the 70s and 80s all I had were comic books to show me their swings through New York City so my brain is wired to accept DD swinging like Spider-Man.
Obviously it needs to be executed perfectly, but this ain’t no $300 million Spider-Man movie so the execution is probably gonna be a few layers below that.
It's not a dealbreaker, but it's certainly jarring and docks a point from it.We’re talking as if they showed him nonstop swinging like Spider-Man and they absolutely did not. It was just really quick burst of movement that was obstructed by rooftops and water towers anyways so it’s not a dealbreaker for me, just yet.
Chill yo lol
Those parkour lunatics on Instagram (some sponsored by Red Bull, others just crazy) make anything I've seen on Daredevil look weak by comparisonIf you can't do the CGI well then don't do it at all. There are stunt people and parkour experts that could do this kind of thing with practical effects.
I disagree - dark red says Daredevil to me more than claret or burgundy.View attachment 761107
If they just went with the same shade of red it'd be so much better.

If Karen is not in this and Foggy doesn’t return in flashbacks this will quickly turn into a PR disaster for Marvel.
They literally announced to the world that the re-shoots were all about bringing those characters back!!!!
Well we saw Poindexter come back to life (granted he's got a new skeleton), but not how he ended up in custody. If Karen is not in this and Foggy doesn’t return in flashbacks this will quickly turn into a PR disaster for Marvel.

Well we saw Poindexter come back to life, but not how he ended up in custody.
So similarly we never saw Foggy carted off in a bag.
He may have had one last breath in him, and by the magic of editing flash-backs.
It may be revealed he's being hid away in protecter custody.
Seems like they replaced Karen and Foggy with almost their exact gender and role fliped analogues.
Instead of Foggy now Kirsten McDuffie an assistant attorney and Murdock's law partner.

It may be revealed he's being hid away pretending to be dead, as some kind of witness protection.
He has bionic enhancements now. Gives him enhanced durability. He’s like Wolverine without a healing factor and claws.I don't get how he survived that fall. I think Foggy's a dead mother****** because why would he be in protective custody with Bullseye locked up, serving consecutive life sentences? Besides, he was bleeding out with that chest wound a good long time, and I think Matt heard his heart stop.
