well… it is training.. :lol
LOL ... fair. I would never say that about a student. I just don't understand why his trainer isn't making him twist his hips and pivot on his standing leg. It's the difference between getting slapped and getting smashed by a baseball bat.

I doubt they're too concerned with the impact of his kick, only that he can look serviceable enough so that up close film of him and not the stunt double doesn't look too bad. Of course this is coming from someone who loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer despite all those wild martial arts vampire scenes :)

I really enjoyed Buffy back in the day. I guess what I mean is the way the kick looks to me, it's not selling it as someone who knows what they're doing; he's also stiff and uncoordinated up top but it's a little less obvious. But it's also entirely possible they're just working him hard to get him ripped; to be fair most of the fight scenes in the show were decent, if I recall.

I read on twitter that the actors for Foggy and Karen aren't coming back. I'm sure everyone's upset. Karen was one of the most annoying TV characters I've ever seen. All she did was ugly cry.

I never bought into Bernthal's version. It always seemed too DeNiro. Like he was trying too hard, or something. It seems to be his acting in general though.

Fair enough. I think the Buffy fights were typically the other end of the spectrum where the vamp would do a 720 degree round house kick straight out of the grave. I think they even poked fun at it in the episode where Buffy was in the asylum...
