Stunned. I've looked at A LOT of PP2 helmets and I've never seen one done that well. The methods dreamwave used, by nature, I think are not truly replicable. Those really poor pics floating around of the prop helmet that finally turned up, up close has this consistent (despite all the mist coats) mostly gray-blue-but-a-little-green that is gorgeous, and it looks proper nailed on yours. The differing finishes between each piece of torso armor is chef's kiss too. That super matte (with a light grime filter perhaps) stomach plate is so good. Just gobsmacked by the lot of them. I could go on for a week picking these apart with praise. 😄
Funny that you honed in on the PP2. That helmet must have 30 layers of mist on it...too green, too grey, too blue...back and fourth. Only to realize that the lighting in my paint room and in my display room were different enough to make a difference. I finally got it to the point where it had the look I was going for. That one was probably my favorite to do because of all the reasons you described. Thanks for the feedback!
