They already did right? In Clone Wars I think they changed his entire backstory. He was raised by dark side witches and the tattoos weren't even applied by Palpatine as Sith tattoos like they were originally.

I have seen all the episodes but I hated what they did with Darth Maul so much in that show (which is pretty great otherwise), I think my brain erased most of it [emoji38]

Gone was the silent assassin. Now he just becomes a body full of hatred and revenge

I read Darth Plagueis (great book.. slow start but so much insight ) .. and it also described how Maul was found and raised by Palpatine (kind of) .. I really liked it.., but guess Disney gonna change it now

Maul was found and raised by Palpatine in canon also. That hasn't changed. But yeah that book is not Canon.

And Maul was still a silent assassin leading up to TPM when they finally revealed that the Sith still exist.

That was always a dumb backstory. Why is he getting "Sith tattoos" that literally no one but the Zabrak ever get?

You can see the same stuff on several Sith from the Krayt era, Darth Talon being obviously the most famous with her own statues and stuff.

Of course this is all Legends now and doesn't match the story introduced by Clone Wars.

You misunderstood me. I'm saying it's a dumb explanation for the tattoos when in canon the only Sith with them is Maul. Calling them "Sith tattoos" would imply they are common amongst the Sith.

Yeah I wish it was an ongoing series and not a limited mini series.

Yup, 5 issues make for a very, very short story. But they seem to like to do that with the new Star Wars comic books unfortunately.

I think it will sell really well, maybe they'll add more later on.

ETA is first week of December for mine so still a bit of wait.

You should def contact him, he told me he does batches now so maybe there is still one available from the upcoming batch.

I went a head snd contacted him. I just really love Maul and I need one of these to center everything around lol. It should look good with the PF and Mythos.

Now if only I hadn't sold my MR full and battle damaged sabers back in the day

Exactly, I ordered this bust for the same reason, due to the lack of a big, impressive licensed piece that I like when it comes to Maul, I felt like this was the perfect opportunity to center the collection, at a reasonable cost. The Sideshow lifesize bust is very expensive nowadays and really not as good as this one, and the LSF isn't perfect, and imo at that price it really should be.

I did the same mistake mate, owned both, sold both (long ago). Luckily I have the eFX version which is great as well. I considered getting the full size MR again but honestly I'm really bothered by the issues with the rubber rings, and there isn't much info out there about which ones to purchase to replace them if they start falling apart. Plus generally speaking it seems really hard to find one in perfect condition, unless it's unopened in which case the price goes through the roof ofc.

I should be in the same batch as yourself hopefully as I ordered a few days after u. I will wait until I get this in hand and then see what other Star Wars busts he does.

I really should have contacted him sooner so we could have all been batch brothers lol.

I'll see what his ETA looks like and if it's too far out I might just get back to him after the Holidays and pick up an efx Maul saber instead.

Hey klwn/marsred, how do you plan on displaying your bust? I can't seem to find any aftermarket stands to use. Or can you just lay it on like a generic jewelry bust? I got one ordered from Phil.

Yeah I think I saw a few pics of the bust just placed directly on the display area, no stand.
I'll talk with Phil about that when the time comes, see if he has anything to recommend, but I'm good with no stand.

I'm not sure yet, he's my first 1.1 bust. I have nearly all the Star Wars premium formats, mythos's, Ralph Mcquarrie's, gentle giant mini busts and sideshows life size yoda. I display my mythos and premium format, next to the similar gentle giant mini bust. So I'm unsure how to display maul. I might look at getting his saber and have a custom enclosure made unless he fits in one of my STUVA cabinets (same as Besta but deeper). I will ask what he recommends to use to display the bust when he contacts me to say it's it's finished.
