About dam time
Still one of my fav statues ever.... such an iconic sculpt in every way. Still working on a Jim Lee inspired portrait for it, and then maybe a Alex Ross
I'm glad I kept my pre-order cause new orders are $450 for this bad-boy now.
IMO, best Supes statue ever made.
Yeah I would agree. If Erick Sosa's Kingdom Come Supes came prepainted it would be a horse race though .... but neck and neck
In addition to not being painted, Sosa's Kingdom Come Superman is not 1/4 scale. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and a collector has it next to a couple of 1/4 scale statues and he comments that the KC statue is in between 1/5 and 1/4 at about 17", while the 1/4 pieces measure 19" (this is not including base) . In the video it's clearly small
That's my video. Here's how the three Supes statues compare:
Sideshow PF is 19.5 inches (without the base) which translates to a Superman that stands 6'6.
Resinworx Supes is 20 inches (without the base) which translates to a Superman that stands 6'8.
PrototypeZ Supes is 17.5 inches (without the base) which translates to a Superman that stands 5'10.
I talked to Erick about it, and he said his instruction to Ownage was that the figure should be 18 inches, which would translate to 6 feet tall. In my mind, that's still too short. It should have been at least 19 inches, making him 6'4.
Adding insult to injury, the base is also much shorter than both the resinworx and Sideshow pieces. In the below pic, he looks 1/5 scale, but at 1/5 17.5 inches would translate to a Supes well over 7 feet tall. So, as aa909 mentioned, the statue is really halfway between 1/4 and 1/5 scale.
On the plus side, only 80 kits were made, so if you own the statue, you're part of a fairly exclusive club.

SS classic still looks the best out of the 3
I just can't get past the pajama suits on the Superman and Batman PF. much prefer full sculpts for these characters, but happy for those that love these pieces and are able to add them to their collections.
