Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Jim Fletcher from DCC said that the figures are selling so well that they'll most likely go right into Superman animated series and Justice League :thud:

Awesome!!! Bring on Superman: The Animated Series! What I'm hoping for is a BTAS Bruce/Batman two-pack and a STAS Clark/Superman two-pack. I've always been a fan of the secret identity figures. Even the '90s ones where they give you the hero or civilian disguise.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

^ I really want Harley's hyenas too (Bud & Lou!), and hopefully we'll get them at some point. I'd be slightly gutted if they come with the wave 7 TNBA Harley in their updated look though, as I'd want them to display with the BTAS Harley & Joker.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I like the new nightie dress Harley. However, I wish they stick with the black tux Joker. The new metallic paintwork is pretty useless.

Agreed. There are other ways they should have gone with Joker. But not a deal breaker.

The perfect one would be a trench coat joker, with hat and tommy gun. It is in the book, anyway. Have no problem if they raised the price, it will be worth the money.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'm pretty sure we'll get a Trenchcoat Joker in a future wave. It's a variant that is guaranteed to sell as well as the original version.

Yes, but the look of a trenchcoat Joker and Harley nightie in the boxset would be pretty amazing.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Joker didn't wear his trench coat in the Mad Love comic though. Only his decoy robot did. It would have to be a look Joker had in that comic for this two pack.

And as nice as it would be to have two brand new sculpts in this two pack, it was never going to happen. Clearly DCC made this two pack to cash in on repainting existing sculpts as they tend to do often.

I do think a Trenchcoat Joker will come, but as a single figure in a future wave.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I like some episodes here and there of JL/JLU, but I've been watching all shows and I actually find them to be the weakest out of the DCAU.

I'm on the complete opposite end of this spectrum. I think as a body of work, Dwayne McDuffie made JLU sing.

For some reason, I'd really like Joker in the sweater from Christmas with the Joker. Must have seen that episode a hundred times growing up. We also need to get the rest of the "awful lawful" family...

I would agree with you. I think my impression of the show is because of Timm's involvement. He was never a fan of doing a JL show, was always very reluctant and for me its really apparently when I look back at those episodes. I love Timm, but he tended to be a baby about certain things (ie:Bane, JL).

I know that. It might be a spoiler for those who haven't read it though (as it's one of the key scenes). It's just that in the variant cover, the trenchcoat joker is featured prominently, so it will look good for the box display if the Joker figure's wearing it as well.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I got a reply to my email regarding scale from DCC's Kevin Kiniry, and this is what it said:

For the heights, we are going back to the model sheet height charts to give the figures a relative scale within the two animated series. Some of the difference with Phantasm is the angle of the photo, the fact that she/he is a prototype (they shrink a small amount in production) and the costume.

I am glad you brought this up though so we can talk about it internally to make sure we aren’t being too caviler about scale.

It's so great that they take the time to reply to fans, and it's great to hear they're going to keep an eye on scale in the future.

Hey, sfa! Would you mind sending Kevin an e-mail saying that most fans are not pleased with TAS Batman's head sculpt?
In the e-mail, you could send a couple of photos of DCC's TAS Batman and Kenner's Combat Belt Batman head scultps, to illustrate.

Since they've been listening to fans' concerns, I think they would do something about it.

Thank you!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'm guessing it could be too late for that Batman head to be honest, but if you'd still like to contact them about it anyway here's the email address: [email protected] :)
