Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Thanks World'sGreatestDetective! I can't wait to take some awesome photos of these! Sadly I'm working this weekend so this will have to wait a bit but photos are coming! :D Overall it's a great set and I can't wait for new BTAS figures to be announced!

Can't wait for the photos!! :yess:
Let alone the future figures.

Will you mod any of your new figures?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I want to fix Batgirl's eye and maybe Batman but I haven't decide. I will keep you posted ;)

Be careful!

I think for Batman, just repainting his eyes and highlighting his "laugh lines" and mouth will be enough.

Did you see McHaley's work? STUNNING!

He said he repainted the eyes and:

took a very light Burnt Sienna for the mouth and laugh (grimace) lines.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Yeah I will do that too but I'm considering resculpting his head a bit. I need to think about it first though cause i don't wont to screw him up.

DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

How accurate is their inventory? Looks like they are already sold out. Last night they had 44 in stock.
I didn't realize there was a way to know their inventory levels (I probably overlooked it). I did, however, send them an email last night ([email protected]) expressing my excitement and privilege to do business with them for the first time. I promptly received a response from them welcoming me to their clientele, thanking me for my business, and reassuring me that my preorder had already been packed and was ready to ship.
I'm sure if you email them they will respond professionally. They have great customer service, in my opinion.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Total noob here, I only collect 1/6 scale customs mostly but TAS is my favourite animated show and probably my favourite Batman representation. Saw some photos of the new batmobile and am gonna pick it up.

My question is, how many version of Batman are there? I saw a Version 2 was up for pre order and a mask of Phantasm version, will either of those fit inside the batmobile?

Cheers

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Picked up my Batmobile today. I haven't opened it up yet.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

That's a big box!

Then I remember the size on the 1/6 '89 Batmobile.....

But still, I'm surprised at how big the box on this $80 release is. What a great time to be a BTAS collector!

Congrats to you guys! Can't wait for mine!

No joke! That box took up my entire entryway/hallway! Good times! That 1/6 '89 Batmobile is a great centerpiece for any Batman collection! I'm glad you got it.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Is there a gundam pen in burnt Siena? Might make it easier to fill in Batmans mouth and smile lines.

I posted this answer as a reply to a pm on how to apply the paint on Batman...I thought is might be helpful to post it here as well:

Yes. Acrylic paint.
The mouth and laugh lines are very subtle, but make a world of difference. I use a very, very thin brush. SOFT. Not hard...you want the paint to be absorbed into the brush. I water the paint way down. You can dip it in the paint, then dip the brush in water, until the paint itself is watery. Then I run the brush (lightly) on a piece of paper or pallet...this will take most of the water logged paint out, leaving some in. Then you run the tip of the brush over the mouth area, letting the mouth crease guide you. It's very light, so can run it over a few times until you get it to your liking. Angle a light on Bat's face so you can see the laugh lines and use the tip of the brush again.
For the eyes, I water down the white...not as much as the Burnt sienna. I so this for a guide and then a thicker layer will sit better on top. For each layer, paint in ONE direction and don't go over your brush stroke until it dries. Your brush stroke can go in any direction once the previous layer dries...which doesn't take long because of such a small area.
Also...gently wash the parts you're painting with a dish washing liquid or mild soap. Just use a damp paper towel with a little dish washing liquid and wipe it down. Rinse it off with another damp paper towel without soap. Then paint.
Hope this helps.
