Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Just received an 'arriving within 10 days' notice from BBTS on the Deluxe Batmobile. Sweet, I thought at best it wouldn't be out until the end of the month.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I hope in a video comparison asap, because I still don't know if buy just the batsignal pack, or got the deluxe batmobile, and sell the "regular" one. I can't realize which one is more accurate.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

IMHO original is more accurate, deluxe looks like Alfred dropped it off at "Pimp my Ride" !

It seems like the overwhelming consensus here is that the original looks more accurate. While I do like accuracy, I think the metallic finish on the new version will end up having more 'shelf presence'. The more realistic one just kind of fades into the background to me, and since I will probably never have perfect lighting on it, the metallic paint will help define it better and make it stand out just that little extra bit. To each their own.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

We've been over the "accuracy" thing about the finish numerous times in the thread and people on both sides have presented screen caps as evidence insisting they're right. Truth is both are accurate, as the Batmobile grille and wheels (and the finish on the rest of the car, as well) have been drawn to look flat or shiny at different times in different episodes and even within the same episode.
Get the one you like, and be happy.

I don't know, because with metallic batmobile we got metallic bat signal, that look like really accurate.
In some pic like this it the batmobile seems really "metallic" even in the show.
In solicit pic the colour of batmobile looks more blueish like in the show, but maybe it will be the same black as the previous.
We will wait and see within 15 days

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Honestly, I'd have preferred they cut that POS and included the MotP cape.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Was hoping for Ivy TAS even though I knew it was far fetched :lol

Hopefully we will see her before February

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Penguin is so close to being perfect. I actually love that figure but agree that he could be better with your suggested reshaping of the right eye. Bruce is just off, back to the drawing board off really. I still hold out hope that he can be put right. I have very few complaints with the sculpts from this line so far. Getting better if anything, Gordon is just fantastic.
Same here. I really, really love Penguin. We actually all agreed here, upon his release last year, that he was perfect and all he needed was a mod to his monocle. Most collectors have done that, as it's pretty simple.

Here's mine:

Except for the Bruce head (which just off), I, personally, like all sculpts so far in this line.

However, I agree with some folks that Joker's head is kinda hard to look 100% good at all times. But, as I mentioned couple of times, all it takes is a decent lighting and he's perfect.
I've found a spot on my shelf that just favors him and I'm happy with him:

I know you get tired of it, but my point is this: you all say you love these figures and still you change things that are not perfect (obviously). You do changes that shouldn't be done - at least not by you - because it's the maker's job. they do bad jobs in scupting or painting or other things and still you prise this line. how can you? other factories just like Bandai or Max Factory (Figma) do way better figures. they cost a little more but to you as real fans it should be worth it. that's my opinion and I stand to it.

Do you have links to the Bandai and Figma BTAS figures?

There was a time when I pictured you as hot girl in Germany who loved Batman The Animated Series. Something like this:
"I love Batman! He's so hot, but I'm hotter!"

However, the more I read your posts, I picture you like this:
"These figures suck."

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'm assuming this is sarcasm right?

Yes.

What we have is the old Kenner stuff and this. No one else is making them. These are not perfect, but are pretty darn good, somewhat reasonably priced and easy to buy (in the U.S. anyway). Do SHFiguarts and Figma have way better articulation/sculpts/quality, yes, but they don't make BTAS. No one else does right now. I wouldn't even want SHF BTAS because of how clean and simplistic the design is for BTAS would look pretty messy with all the crazy joints. Figma's would be great, but does anyone believe they would come anywhere close to the range of characters we're getting now (same problem with SHF)? Even if they did it would take 100 years. I personally would love Mezco to do them, but that would still limit the characters/time and turn people off with cloth.

Some of these figures are 90% there and some maybe only 70% there. These are not just better than nothing, they are pretty darn good and I'm glad to have them. If they can take useful criticism and improve them, then great. If getting that costs a bit more, fine. But I'm happy enough with where they are at. Of course I'd love some fantasy company to make the best figures ever made with all the characters I want at the time and price I want for the absolute definitive versions that I never have to buy again, but that's just never going to be in the cards.

but anywho......

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Here's a pic of Christmas Joker and a little of the packaging for that signal set. Eyes still look weird. Unless I change my mind in person, I think I'm gonna skip him after all. Def getting the whole bullock wave, and the Clayface wave minus Harley though

Also, for anyone who cares, the Arkham Knight Batgirl came out awesomee imo

Also this tiny bit of info on the Batwing:

– The Batwing from Batman: The Animated Series will be out on or by Black Friday. The Batwing can seat two figures in the cockpit, and the second compartment is hidden with an extra removable hood piece. The landing gear is retractible, and there are pieces that cover the gap of where the landing gear is stored when deployed for landing. The vehicle also features lights, which can light up the back, as well as the cockpit. There is a retractable claw that only goes out a few inches.

Does that mean that everything due on Nov 30th will be out on or by Black Friday?
