Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I feel like this set would've worked better as an Arkham Asylum set AFTER the single carded versions were released. You could have "inmate" versions of Freeze, Joker, Ivy, Harley, and Ventriloquist with their grey uniforms, or, if you needed a new, theme specific figure, what about Lock-Up?
That's exactly what I don't want.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Clayface finally came out over here today!! He's such an awesome figure to pose :D

I got mine yesterday too! The figure it's great and I like his size.

Honestly, if it were me? Scrap Bane, Freeze, and Montoya as part of the set and release them individually. Release Ivy and Croc, indidvidually, too, but give us a Penguin with corrected monocle and cigarette stick, and a Joker with a new, improved headsculpt and make it an "almost got 'em" set. You could have the packaging look like the exterior of the Stacked Deck bar, with an open "window" box looking in on the lot of them sitting at a poker table.

I've been doing a Stacked Deck diorama for a while, if I can I'll show you some pictures tonight.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The difference in the multi packs is Kenner did 3 bad repaints and 1 new figure. DCC are doing 5 legitimate releases at once.

Also- and this is is probably because I am an all in collector - I like the multi packs. The ONLY concern I have is it is sometimes hard enough to get good paint apps on 1 figure... now you need to get 5 good ones all together!

Oh man! I didn't even think of that. You are right, it's going to be hell trying to get 5 figures with good paint. Ugh. :(

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I actually don't get the point or the need to do so many multi-pack thing. I think for a collector is a cool idea from time to time but if this line is going to be a single figure and a multi-pack at every wave is gonna be difficult that every collector will buy them all. I personally prefer so much a single figure.. there are so many figure I don't care about. Montoya is not a must for me and now I have to buy her because I want the other? No, thanks. I hope DCC will change mind and release these figures individually. As someone already said the quality is gonna be lower with multi-pack... I'm sure we're gonna have more feedback about the quality with the 5 girls pack.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'd love to hear a retailer's perspective on all this.

I'm pretty sure multipacks are more attractive because they're a higher price point with a better margin. And if I'm not mistaken, single figures have to be ordered by the case as part of an assortment. Multipacks do not.

Even if I just want a Commissioner Gordon figure, my LCS won't order it because they already have four Zatannas and two Ra's al Ghuls collecting dust on the pegs. But if I want a Girl's Night Out 5-pack, no problem.

There's more to this than just collectors and DCC.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Considering the amount of backlash toward a multi-pack with 5 all new characters most of which are very popular I can't imagine how the response would be to one with rereleases or several not so popular characters. Really without rehashing previous characters like Riddler, Joker, Penguin they don't really have the ability to release a pack with so many popular figures. I mean Two-Face and Scarecrow plus...? Red Claw? Clock King? Maxie Zeus?... maybe Alfred or Bruce?

I don't recall what the response was to the GNO pack when it was first shown but then again it was cheaper plus they were already offering a single release NBA Harley and two of the characters were STAS characters so maybe a lot of folks were planning on passing on those two anyhow. ???

You just cracked the case sir :) I'm sure this is also the reason. I mean DCC is trying to be "good" for everyone but at the end of the day this is a business so they have to find a balance between customer/distributor/retailer's happiness and profit. They made those awesome vehicles in a good price cause there was demand for it! I personally am happy with this 5-pack as all the characters are new and I would also buy all of them if they were single releases. I would have bough 3-4 Ivy figures though if she was a single release just to make custom figure in a different clothes. I hope the future x-pack will bring us cool new figures that are different enough to what we already have. Let's wait for NYTF and see
;)

They could for example do Civilian 3-pack (Bruce, **** and Barbara) or Hardac Batman and Ronda ^^

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

And in which storyline on the show are Freeze, Croc, Bane and Ivy together with Montoya? Answer: none.
Has DCC made up a story itself just so it could put whatever villians it wanted together in a box?

LMAO, Kevin is seriously delusional.

I don't think he's talking about any specific storyline from the show. He's trying to put together a multipack that makes sense and will be a sure seller. In terms of concept, four villains in a GCPD jail with a fan-favorite cop fits the bill. Now he just needs to sell folks on the idea of a $35 package.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

And now just to change the subject :)

What do you guys think we will see NEW at NYTF ? or what would you like to see? I think we will see Bat-Glider, Batcycle and some sort of Bat-computer with a part of the cave :D I would really like to see "Harley and Ivy" 2-pack with their civilian clothes from the waste dump :D

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

A Batcomputer would be very awesome! I'd love to get that. If Alfred is included with it, then even better :) I think the Batcycle is a big contender. And as for more figures... Perhaps a couple of 2-packs? Maybe Bruce & Alfred, or Bruce & Richard Grayson.

Other less likely ones I'd love to see: Red-Claw & Catwoman. Two-Face & Harvey Dent. "Harley & Ivy" as Zelu mentioned. Rupert Thorne & Roland Daggett. Lock-Up & Summer Gleeson.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I would FAINT with a Alfred and Leslie Thompkins 2-pack.
Two important people in Bruce's life.
Or a 2-pack with Alfred and Bruce with the Waynes gravestone. Would make me loose it.

And Zelu: maybe that Harley & Ivy pack would have Ivy with the right bang. LMAO
I would get them. They look hot as hell in those large shirts.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

DCC posted the 5-pack on their facebook page yesterday:

Can't believe there has been no comment on Ivy.
Like, no one noticed at least how off the colors are? Are they even collectors?????

They were quick to notice the lack of hair on Batgirl's shoulders, but they can't even see how wrong Ivy's colors are?
Are those b*tches drunk?

Makes me worry about the people at ToyFair.

Looks like we here are the only true BTAS fans that can notice it.

Sorry, I was hoping there would be over 100 comments bashing Ivy. Guess I had my hopes up too high.

You must be Mark :D

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'm glad to see the backlash on the facebook page though. No one is happy about it coming in a set, and such an expensive set at that. Lots of people saying they're going to pass (except one particular *****, whom I see everywhere, who would defend a dried up piece of ***** wrapped in newspaper, if it came from DCC). Hopefully Toyfair gets the same results and DCC scraps this idiotic pack all together. I was surprised that no one mentioned Ivy though. I'm sure they were too distracted by the general ridiculousness of it all lol
l

John? lol
Sorry, just amused at the same comments being there lol

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Holy crap, look at this! It can compete with Zelu's customs :D
DCC sculptors must learn from these guys.. ^^

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Hair sculpt looks awesome! I'm not sure about that Zattana's smile but still it's Ivy <3

I like the chin, way more accurate than the prototype picture from the 5-pack :)

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I've been thinking about a batcomputer all week. I actually started sketching one that uses dramatic pictures of the action figures on the screen.

In light of this latest 5-pack, I wouldn't be surprised if the next vehicle is either the Police Blimp or Police Van.

I saw this on instagram.
The hair is spot on perfect, but the customized Zatanna face looks very weird and unnatural. Those Donatella Versace lips are horrible.
I wanted that hair on DCC's Ivy head.
