Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!
Maybe those who can't buy it are also part of the problem.
I could buy the Batwing and Batcomputer with Alfred for $350 without blinking an eye or it hurting me financially
but I wouldn't feel good about it. I got the Hot Toys '89 1/6 Batmobile for nearly double that and didn't feel too bad about it (apart from scratches and a cheapo armor cover). I don't know about other collectors, but I like getting value with what I buy. You wanna feel good about what you're throwing your $$$ down on I would think instead of feeling regret. Space is also a factor. If you want me to make room to buy a huge *** Batwing, a long cardboard box that houses 5 figures and a big *** computer "vignette", you better give me some incentive. Incentives that don't include,
- putting out a vehicle that everyone buys, only to the put out a "Deluxe" version a mere two months later (looking at you Batmobile)
- ditching a key component like a wall mount for the Batwing when they said there were plans to include it
I'm sure there will be some BS involved with the 5 pack and the Alfred/Batcave set. I'll bet 10 bucks they get pushed back and delayed too. I don't think anybody here is so cheap that they're expecting to get a $50 Batwing or a $60 Batcomputer with Alfred, but their prices are jacked up. I can see why their single added figures are dead, nobody wants to pay $30 for that ****. If that's the best they can do to keep quality control up and still profit, maybe the toy business is the wrong business.
Man-Bat has GREAT value at his MSRP. TNBA Joker has great value for his MSRP. Clayface has great value for his MSRP. The Batmobile has great value for it's MSRP. Batman/Phantasm 2 pack has great value for their MSRP.
Little BTAS Harley? Christmas Joker? The Batwing? The Batman Beyond 3 pack? Superman and Lois? Rogues Gallery 5 pack? Batcave with Alfred? Those do not. I'm not in their business and can't see their sales figures, but I don't see why they're taking gambles with these huge, big ticket items when comic shops and online stores are struggling to move them.
