Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

^ I know Sewer King isn't a popular choice, but as a kid "The Underdwellers" struck a chord, especially how these kids were being treated by him with zero empathy and had to stop each other from crying out in pain when accidentally getting themselves hurt during their slave labor. I'd buy him.

However, nothing will beat the suspense I felt when watching Batman having to give in to the villain's demand and unmask himself in order to survive the inescapable wax museum room in "The Cape and Cowl Conspiracy".

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I feel as though we ought to wait until ToyFair to see what DCC show there before getting into petition territory.

I couldn't disagree more.

This isn't just about what WE want from DCC. This is about giving DCC ammunition, proof to retailers that there's still demand for this line.

New York Toy Fair is a venue for manufacturers to sell to retailers. A petition like this, even if it's just a collection of wish lists from ONE message board, could signal the tip of the iceberg to potential retail buyers.

No, we need to act now. And if it only ends up validating what DCC shows at Toy Fair so be it. Retailers can then order with added confidence.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Well,Okay......Here's mine:

-STAS Lex Luthor
-STAS Metallo
-STAS Lobo
-STAS Toyman
-STAS Darkseid

That's a great list. DCC needs to know there's interest in the Animated line beyond the Batman family. I'm all in for Superman, JLU, and Green Lantern as well.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Since DCC seems to be in 5-pack mode, I suggest we list the top five figures we each want. Here's mine:

BTAS Two-Face
BTAS Scarecrow
TNBA Penguin
Gray Ghost
Hugo Strange

With Toy Fair right around the corner, we'd better hurry.

Since we're splitting lists between series, here's a revised version of mine:

BTAS
Two-Face/Harvey Dent
Scarecrow (with alternate portrait)
Gray Ghost
Rupert Thorne
HARDAC Batman

TNBA
Penguin
Batwoman with three alternate unmasked heads
Batman and Harley Quinn Floronic Man
Batman and Harley Quinn Swamp Thing
Batman and Harley Quinn Nightwing

Batman Beyond
Bruce in Beyond Batsuit
Return of the Joker Tim
Return of the Joker Joker
Commissioner Barbara Gordon
Shriek

STAS
Bizarro & Mr. Mxyzptlk
Brainiac
Jax-Ur
Mala
Metallo

Justice League Unlimited
Any of it. ALL OF IT.

And because I'm wishlisting...

Batman: Strange Days Deluxe Set
Retro Batman
Hugo Strange
Goon
Damsel
Batplane

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Any word on if the GCPD set will ever be released in single versions? I'm sure this is a dumb question but I'm honestly curious.

They said "No" but we're talking about DCC here... take it with a grain of salt and wait a few more years.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Ok. Revised list now that I've given it some thought.

BTAS

Two Face
Scarecrow
Gray Ghost
Hugo Strange
Thorne

TNBA

Penguin
Ventriloquist
Clayface
Mad Hatter

STAS

Luthor
Bizarro and Mxy
Brainiac
Mercy
Metallo

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Does TNBA Clayface really look significantly different from BTAS Clayface? This seems to be one of the few characters that really didn't change very much.

And is anyone else getting this bust from Diamond Select to complement their collection?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

TNBA Clayface is squarer and the head is lower into the body.

Also given how off model the first one was it might be nice to get a second chance to get it right.

People sell the figures from that set individually on eBay, so even if they're not released in single versions, it won't be impossible to get such characters by themselves.
For example, here.

Here's a handy guide for most of the characters' changes:

I really wish DCC could hire Varner Studios because their work with DST has been mainly superb. That TAS Clayface is much better than DCC's standard head they gave us.

Absolutely. The DCC BTAS Clayface head is embarrassingly off model. At NO stage in the show was it ever 'pointy' like that. So many example screenshots available by simply Googling and we got what we got???

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

No need to put pointy in quotes, dude. It is pointy. Stupidly so.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

There are more than a few figures in this line that are borderline comically off-model. The overall look of all these figures when they're standing next to eachother kind of works out though, so I don't really mind it as much as I would if I had a few of these as single figures on display.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Okay - here are the results as of this morning.

We need to decide exactly how many figures we think we should ask for... I am thinking our collective top 10, but I'd love to hear your opinion. Also, when do you believe I should send the letter and info to DCC? I was thinking the end of December since Toy Fair is in February.

Nice job :)
Personally, I think you might as well send them them the whole list. I mean considering the way you organized it and now seeing it the way you’ve laid it out, it’s pretty simple to read and comprehend. There also really isn’t a huge range of characters and I think the number of votes per character kind of tells all.

Although I think we should have organized the voting process better because some people voted for more characters than others. There should have really been a strict limit on how many votes we all got. For example if someone only thought they were allowed to pick five while the next person picked ten the first person potentially left 5 open votes on the table. Therefore some characters might have received a higher number of votes. But everyone just started wish-listing away lol.

Nobody’s fault. The whole thing just sort of snowballed before any of us could get it properly organized.

I really need to just bite the bullet and get the whole set... Freeze and Ivy are pretty scarce as of late on eBay and at 40-50 each I'd pay the equivalent of the whole set over time only to end up with no Montoya, who I wouldn't mind owning too...

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

When did u make the pool? or did you take it from our comments. Happy to know that the nba figs I want are in first place n.n

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

As long as they make "Batman: The Animated Series" Scarecrow and Two-Face as well as "The New Batman Adventures" Penguin, this line will be complete enough for me. Great job with that chart, Doug. I'm surprised Thorne has as many votes as The Clock King! I didn't know he was so popular, although he does have some really classic moments, like how he fires his henchman in "Bane" and gets his *** kicked in "The Man Who Killed Batman".
:lol
One question...

Who the hell is 'Enrique El Gancho'? :rotfl

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I just want a Terry McGinnis Batman from the episode were he is grown up and finds out Bruce is his father. Have it come with two simple plug on wings this time (the articulated versions in the two pack suck!) and two alternate heads. One Terry head and one Old Bruce from his last time as Batman. That's all I want DC, make it happen! Tim Drake Joker, Blight, Shriek and Inque would be awesome too but I ain't holding my breath.
