Here is a box picture to show the metal button and fabric lightning bolt which would have been better.

I think it is easy to fix the clasps if you perfer a metal button - fabric stores have those type of buttons. You could probably just switch the metal button with their plastic brothers with out any problems.

Cap Marvel is DC. also known as SHAZAM. originally Fawcet IIRC.

that is one of the better looking DCDs, along w/ Green Lantern.

I know this. lol Marvel is the character not the company I was referring to. I do collect this line. I better hope it's DC, or I am not a good geek. hehe

I also meant the body on Captain Marvel seems to be improved over previous 13" DCD figures.

I think the bigger bodies they use works really good on him, I mean Batman and Supes can be a tad downsized, I know they're big and all, but it's cartoony. With Bats all I think is wrong is his ears need to be longer, or head needs to be a smige bigger. Supes looks weird to me, someting about that body. But Capt. Marvel is cartooony big, that's why it works. He's not a real man, like Clark or Bruce, he's a kid who uses magic to harness the powers of the gods in a weird form, so it works for the character. Flash is waaayyy to big. I can't wait for this to come, I'm thinking I'll have it tomorrow, or by Tuesday (damn presidents day!)

Hey Shaun! Are you stalking me? :lol Glad to see you over here at the Freaks! I'm sure everybody will appreciate your picture contributions as much as I do!

Well I just picked up Captain Marvel from the Post Office. I have to say that he really gave Green Lantern a run for his money as best figure in the line. Sooooo close.....but not quite good enough. Now don't get me wrong, the Captain Marvel figure is awesome, but Hal has set the standard pretty high.

I'm really happy that DCD changed the head sculpt from the original solicit. They did an excellent job on the sculpt and paint on the head! The costume is great! I like the darker shade they used on the boots vs. the solicits. It's more of a dijon mustard color versus the bright yellow. I'm not sure if gold boots would've looked good.

The cape is really nice but like Shaun has mentioned, it's heavy and it chokes poor Cap. I'm going to add a tiny little dot of velcro under his cape and attach it to his back so that it doesn't choke him. I've heard several reports of people snagging the cape material when removing him from the box, so use caution. I had no problem removing him.

My only real complaint is in the chest bolt symbol. Mine has some red mixed in it, as if the gold paint application wasn't quite thick enough. It's not a huge deal, but it was enough to keep him from taking Hal's crown.

Captain Marvel ranks right below Hal though.....tied in second place with Batman. I'm certainly more happy with Cap than I was with the Flash I received two weeks ago. If you're considering getting into this line, do it NOW. Don't get too far behind on these.

Damned corner store comics, after 2 emails (which they replied to) telling them I changed my address and giving it to them, they still sent it off to the old address! Now I gotta wait LONGER for it!

That sucks! I don't care for Cornerstore Comics at all. Alter Ego has never let me down!

Hey Jase,

Now you know why I said the fabric lightning bolt would have looked better, but glad you still like him. I need to figure out how to tack the cape down as well. It is hard to get it to stay down where it looks good.

Yeah, the fabric would look better. It's much easier to see what you were talking about with the figure in front of me! If you figure out something better than my velcro fix for the cape, let me know!

I just think I figured out a better way to hold the cape in place. I took one of those small clear rubber bands and double wrapped it around the collar of the cape and the neck. It actually helps keep the collar down and keeps the cape tight against the neck. You can still adjust the cape from there and won't snag the fabric like you would with velcro.
