exactly. and if you dont knock the guy out, outboxing is what wins the fight.congerking said:He may have outboxed De La Hoya, but he certainly didn't defeat him.
as far as Mayweather running from DeLaHoya, of course he did. Technically Mayweather shouldve been afraid of Oscar's power. He was in a weight class 10lbs above his normal weight, so Oscar shouldve had the knock-out power advatange. Expecting Maywether to stand toe to toe with Oscar woudlve been completely unrealistic.
the phrase "stick and move" comes to mind.
Im not a fan of either fighter, but i was hoping Oscar would pound Mayweather into the ground. Unfortunately we got exactly what I was expecting.
The only way Oscar couldve won that fight wouldve been to relentlessly pressure Mayweather to the point it took him out of his game plan. Not just flurries, but walk him down constantly and cut off the corners and not let him slip out and around.
but I agree 100% with those that say Boxing pretty much sux now and its really no fun to watch at all after youve gotten into UFC full force.
cant wait to see this week's Ultimate Fighter to see if Corey Hill can actually throw down
