Hitomi is a very strong character when you take the time to master her move set. I just think that Ayane is the hottest. Also, I always owned with Ayane against my friends playing DOA 2 HC on the PS2. Three of us would have hours long sessions constantly challenging each other. We'd set up a 5 on 5 battle with all random characters. We all had every move set memorized. It was crazy fun.

Hitomi rules! If I had to rank the females I'd put Ayane 4th behind Hitomi, Kasumi, Lei Fang :monkey3 Imo Ayane's move/skill set is too easily predictable and limited compared to the others.

Wuh? Ayane was generally at the top of the tier list in DOA4... for the exact opposite reason. She has a plethora of moves with many outs/counters for nearly every character and situation.

Hitomi is decent... but in a pro vs pro play, Ayane has a higher chance of victory.

Of course Hayabusa gets the most play (though, he is on the top too).

I've always been best with Hitomi but my sister who usually sucks at video games was able to go toe to toe with me using Ayane in DOA3 so she's definitely a good character. I still like Hitomi better though :)

Disagree, Hitomi's move set was much better for pro v pro play and she is far less predictable. Ayane has 1 thing over Hitomi - speed. However in pro v pro play I'd prefer Hitomi's far better strength & technique over Ayane's speed which is negated by her predictability.

Kasumi is the quickest of them all and far better suited for fighting Hitomi than Ayane is due to better techniques & less predictability, which is why Kasumi is chosen over Ayane at top levels most often.

Ayane is very noob friendly, just spam buttons and she soars across the screen kicking :lol

You obviously haven't been much into the hardcore DOA community, tournaments, etc.

The general consensus is: Ayane - top tier. If you play these guys for tournament money, you'd generally have a higher chance of losing with Hitomi than Ayane.

It's not about speed. It's about knowing the counters. Not the basic counters the game teaches you. But knowledge of how one move or maneuver takes precedence over another. How a frame of a move cancels out another. How the range of a move locks down an opponent to very little choices. Move advantage, spacing, pressure, and mind tricks. When most of the tournaments are won by Ayane and Hayabusa players (well, Hayabusa much more so), that says a lot.

Opinions are fine, but yours don't hold up in a "professional" setting.

This isn't the first time I heard you talk out of your ... *ahem". Simply saying a character is "predictable" or "unpredictable" doesn't contribute much. But whatever, I'll let it go too.

Go ahead with your **** stroking though. Never miss the opportunity I see. :wink1:

Fyi I have DOA tournament experience, though I do not claim to be the best player on planet Earth. I certainly don't need a lesson on frame rate :lol I could tell you all about it but at the end of the day you would still have your opinions and I would have mine, so why waste time?

You simply saying "you obviously haven't been much into the hardcore DOA community" when you don't know anything about me or saying "opinions are fine, but yours don't hold up in a "professional" setting" doesn't contribute much either. But whatever, I'll let it go. :wink1:

Can't wait for DOA5 already :rock

since there isn't a Dead or Alive 4 thread, I thought to post it in here ;)

I just sold these two, but I did just made the review for them so I thought I'd share it ;)

This game certainly looks to be shaping up better than the travesty that Ninja Gaiden 3 was.
