the reason l never have ordered threw sideshow and never will is because they do not ship to canada threw USPS. there are very little fees threw them. they only ship fed ex, and they have some mean fees when the package gets to your door here in canada.

the word is "through."

Just thought you might want to know.

I'm sure glad I can get all my signature required stuff delivered to work.

that seems like a pretty reasonable alternative but im sure there are people with exceptions to that. fortunately if i miss a signature i can run to my local ups & pick it up which isnt but a few miles away. if people live in apartments isnt there a way for the package to be signed at the office & picked up when you get home?

This is not a proper sentence because it is lacking a subject. Every sentence must have a subject and a verb.

I also have my packages delivered to my work's shipping address - which is a Mailbox place that has employees there that can sign for everything. I would be screwed if I had to have things shipped to my home. Plus I definitely would not want anyone leaving packages at my home - I don't trust a lot of the teenage kids in my neighborhood.

I brought up the raising of the signature required items to $150 or even $200 during the last chat fest thing.. the guy in charge of shipping said they would think about it.

When figures used to cost 45$ (ahh the days), signature required was only added on when stuff was above 100$. Now that every figure is 100$+ the signature required should be raised.

Or perhaps fill out one authorization/fax form for ALL future orders. I filled out a set and had items delivered to me at work which was nice, but doing it every time is a pain.

That said I ordered a DX Batman from BBTS, it cost 12$ to ship... and was delivered without any shenanigans or signature required (double boxed as well).

It probably boils down to me being impatient and wanting my toys NOW!.. more often than not.. Sideshow will ship to me on a Monday, I can see that it arrived in town Friday via tracking, and since UPS does not deliver on the weekend.. it sits there until Monday when the signature required game of tag begins.

I just received the following in the last week and a half:

HT T-800 from independent retailer - double boxed, fine shape

HT T-800 from a second independent retailer - double boxed, fine shape

HT Sarah Connor from SSC - shipper box, dent on corner - not mint, note left for UPS and they actually listened to it

Overall, I would rather buy from SSC, but it really becomes a game of what to buy and from where depending on different variables. Do you want mint packaging? Do you care about $$$ savings or SSC Points that can be tricky to use, as things sell-out fast? Is signing for packages a problem? Does the speed of recieving the item count?

When I got my first T-800, it was after weeks of others recieving theirs from SSC. In that case I was alittle bothered about how slow mine was coming, but then I was happy to see them double boxed and cared for. In this situation, I didn't mind waiting for mint boxes. Sarah I wanted quick and didn't care so much about packaging, so it worked out to get her from SSC.

There are some very well educated people on this board. I'm glad everyone is doing their part in helping pick out grammatical errors. :duff :lol

The "you" would be the proper subject. Somebody was sleeping after recess. :lol

STOP THAT!!!!!!!!!!!

:lecture

Implied subject... The breakdown of that sentence is actually:

[YOU] Stop that.

This is fun. Let's do improper use of apostrophes next. :hi5:

Oops. :offtopic:

As you were.

I sent SS my 'please cancel the HT Sarah' email last night, and got a very to-the-point response that my item would be refunded sans shipping costs...

So, out of the last two hot toys figures from them: I have a damaged box for my T800 and -$15 without Sarah

I didnt ask for a full refund, as I consider that $15 lost a lesson: order from another company

Updated: ordered from Alter Ego:

Total: $145.98 (versus $165 from Sideshow...why didnt I do this sooner)?

Amaman Matt-

You can easily request a signature waiver for your packages. This way the carrier will drop it on your doorstep. https://www.sideshowtoy.com/helpdesk/?p=66 Please keep in mind that the DRIVER does have the final call if he feels you live in a crime riddled place where it might get stolen because the drivers are ultimately responsible for the item if any shennigans happen.

Also, if your carrier experiences excessive damages please call us as we can change from Fed Ex to UPS and back to see if that decreases damages. We also have a double box service for a few extra dollars if both carriers turn out to have consistent damages with your boxes.

We apologize that you have experienced such issues in trying to obtain your Sarah Conner figure. We wish you would have contacted us to let us know about your concerns so we could have suggested alternatives. We are glad that you were able to get the item from AE, as we have heard positive feedback from collectors about them.

Sucks to hear you draw a bad card on most of your orders. I bet that's extremely frustrating.

As far as using SS direct over retailers, my personal answer is simple. Customer Service. If I have a problem, they fix it. If I buy from an ebay seller, I have no guarantees. Half of the retailers require a down payment on a preorder, SS doesn't. If Im pre-ordering a statue 7 months out, I have no way of knowing what the future holds. I like knowing I can cancel when life happens and not be penalized for it.

It's worth it to me to spend $15-$25 more per item to know Im buying it direct, and that if something happens they will take care of me.

I tried once and only once to order a piece from cornerstore and had that credit card info compromised. I had to spend 2 months disputing charges, and calling my bank 2-3 times a week, not to mention faxing in forms left and right. Credit card/identity theft while trying to save a few bucks at a retailer, I'll pass!

Just my 2 cents.

If I ever divorce my wife (though with alimony, the house, etc., it's doubtful that'll happen), I'll keep you in mind for copy editor of the magazine. :lol
