Death penalty for rapists?

I'm sure a lot of you have read about the brutal rape of a 15yr old girl in Richmond recently, where there were up to 24 people who either watched or participated and did nothing about it. After curiosity, I stumbled upon punishment for rapists, and found to my dismay, that the avg rapist only gets ~5.4 years of ACTUAL jail time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_and_punishment
We recently in California had a guy that abducted a girl and kept her for 20 years after he was let out of jail for kidnapping/rape previously, and he raped her to the point where she had to kids over that time span

Are we way too linient on rapists when it comes to punishment? I feel a mandatory federal minimum of 15 years of ACTUAL jail time for convicted rapists with the possibility of execution by death penalty should be the punishment. Its such a barbaric act and we dont need people like this in our society completely destroying lives. This 15 yr old girl may never fully recover from an act like this. Kind of a touchy subject, but it bothers me alot to see things like this happen to people, just curious how Freaks feel about the subject

I'm tempted to go as far as genital amputation, but you'll never be able to let the monster that would create out of prison. It also falls under cruel and unusual punishment, so it's illegal. However, if I were a girl who was raped, I would hunt the bastard, and probably cut it right the ^^^^ off. No rules for vigilantism.

Just don't get caught.

I would have agreed with awhile ago, but I am not for castration at all. I think it would be pointless and end up costing tax payers too much money. Even if your castrated, you can still perform as you did before, but not have sperm obviously. The point would be to make a harsh enough punishment against them, even a castrated guy can still rape. Yes, if i ruled the world, i would just cut their ^^^^ off cause then they have to live the rest of their life with that kind of torment. The justice system just blows more times than not. A marijuana dealer could spend more time in jail than a rapist, doesnt make sense for such a horrible crime. Rapists dont rape to impregnant woman, they like that "power" that is associated with the act, so you got to take that power away from them.

A friend of mine is a nurse at the county jail. She said that if the prisoners find out that you were sent in jail for rape/child molestation charges, you are more likely to get beat down or get killed.

Weird that people constantly rape each other in jail, though. Do people in jail beat down or kill those who rape others in jail?

I work in San Jose and they've mentioned a little about this story on KBAY...the Richmond story. That's just insane...I really hope those people responsible...well it reminds me of a scene from Law Abiding Citizen...
