Doesn't feel any more offensive than any other basic revenge flick. However Eli Roth sucks and Willis looks dorky in that hoodie. Also AC/DC makes it feel like an Iron Man movie which is weird.

Its like people forgot about the movie death sentece from a couple of years ago......

I'd never heard of Death Sentence but I went and watched the trailer just now and it looks better than Roth's new DW. Did that movie get a theatrical release?

It was made by the guy that directed Saw. Yeah it was released in theaters. There was no drama from it.

It is literally the same story. White upper class guy takes down the punks that hurt his family. Same exact story.

It was a more innocent time, before the Tumblerites ran wild, before the Dawn of the Cult of Coates, when the soothsayers said that future of the Battles between the the People of the Left and the people of the Right shall be about issues of substance.

Flick was a good watch. Same basic plot and outcome to the original but enough changes to keep it interesting. I liked the social media and talk radio coverage. Assault Coffee Table.

I felt the original was very keen on showing that the main character went crazy, he was not really suppose to be looked at as a hero.....

This one seem like he is?

Maybe I am mixing up the originals....but something about it was not meant to glorify the vigilant by then end wasn’t it?

I don't think this one glorified it. He was looking for those involved with the crime. In this one he felt he failed as a husband and father in protecting his family and at the end redeemed himself. So more about revenge justice.

The original I believe he was taking out any wrongdoing he came across on his nightly rounds. So pretty much a vigilante.

Wow, just saw the RT score. No, this movie isn't close to a 15%. We also saw Red Sparrow and other than JL looking delicious, that movie blew.

One of the neat details is none of the weapons he used during his revenge on the streets was obtained legally.

Only for the showdown in his home were store bought firearms used.

I too thought it was good. My local paper hated it, saying it was an “ill timed” film. I couldn’t disagree more. I felt the film clearly showed the gun issues the country is facing and that they guns themselves aren’t the problem but the people who use them. It was pretty much everything I wanted it to be. Some cool kills, cheesy one liners, and Willis being Willis. The fact it did a great job showing the problems the country is currently facing was just a bonus. Too bad the people that could use the message most are likely never going to watch this.
