i think it's the green on the hair that i'm not digging. maybe dry brushing a lighter shade of brown?

Les, Josh, Darren? You guys are the experts!!

Ha! Well, it is brown, but I can see how it looks a bit green as photographed. I'll tackle that on my next pass.

That's looks good i wish i could paint i suk, i recently sold my Daniel Craig, sculpt and the guy who purchased it did a great job in painting it.
Im sure he did do a good job painting it but not with a real brush . . . more like photoshop

The silhoutte down the right side of the first pic and the profile of the second is a bit of a give away

Ive no doubt the sculpt is good and the paint job adequate but looking at the pics somethings just a little off

IMHO these images have had some CGI enhancement

and its uncanny how the silhoutte is just down the bit where the sculpt meets the background . . . .

. . . . in both shots

They might be photoshopped, but I don't think that means they were "painted" in photoshop. He may just have blurred out the background to make the head stand out more, for example.

I'd have to see the head in person to really judge, but I can't decide if I like the blotchiness or not.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but have you thought of wrapping his fingers up on his right hand? That would totally add to the final scenes look. Just a suggestion.

Absolutely! I still have a ways to go on this figure. I want to fix the clothes a bit and swap the head to a better body, or at least better hands.

I love what this guy (Tony DiTerlizzi) did with the clothing - I wish I had more specifics on how he distressed them, but the shirt seems to almost be re-dyed And as you can see, has taped up the fingers as well.

One of the best paint jobs I've seen on a Frontline head, by the way, and where I got the idea to paint mine as "battle-damaged" as well. I'm just not crazy about the Frontline sculpt. I think the best one out there is Spenser's, and I made sure they were available before I tried painting the vinyl head (I wanted to know I could get one before I possibly ruined mine!)

If only Spenser would sell me a set of those Deckard clothes...:monkey5

I wouldn't worry about the hair looking green. I've had Anakin repaints I've done for people which in hand look amazing (I know.. not supposed to praise your own stuff, but hey... they do :lol ) and the customers said the same... but when I took photos... the hair had the weirdest green tint to it. So much so that it made me take the heads into as many different lighting conditions as I could to make sure people weren't going to get green haired Anakins, lol.

As for that Daniel Craig head, it's been hand painted alright... maybe some airbrush, maybe even recast into a different material... but all he's done to the image is to blur out the background. Thats why we can see a line drawn around the face. If you look near the bottom you can see the line where the 'ground' is sharp, and then all of a sudden becomes blurry. No trickery on the face itself

and once again... this paintjob.... FABULOUS :rock

Quick question for the veterans - should I seal the acrylic paint job on the head? If yes, what should I use? Bear in mind the head is factory vinyl, not resin. I'm afraid to spray it with anything.

And here's today's Deckard revisions. Swapped him to a Neo 3 body, repainted the hair, added the forehead bruise, painted the gun, sewed the shirt collar shut, tinted the shirt and tie, and pinned the collar of the trenchcoat down with fabric tape so they don't look like wings. Might tweak him some more, but I like it much better than a week ago.
