Im pretty excited. I just learned how to play the Randy Rhodes classic Dee!!!
I think I got most of it correct, but I still need to brush up on some parts....

Great job Moe. Sound right on to me.:D Randy was an amazing guitarist. That was a nice tribute to him bro.

Thanks bro! I'm just dabbling with it right now...a few more tweaks and it'll sound better.

Not bad... I too learned that back in the late eighties you have a different phrasing to your playing than the original recording, however this might be intentional. :monkey3

May I suggest finger picking the piece as opposed to hybrid picking. The overall attack (tonal) difference is night and day.

Either way Randy was the bees knees :joy

Yeah Randy totally made Ozzy great. He was just so natural on the guitar and what made him a cut above all the others was his dedication to music in general. He never stopped studying and he was marrying the two genres of Metal and classical music together. Great guitarist. Way better than Zakk Wyld- Zakk just plays a bunch of notes fast with no feeling or real style.

I constantly put on Crazy Train and play along. It definitely gets crazy. :lol I love the beginning when Randy is messing with the guitars neck to drop it down and then flicking the toggle switch rapidly. Sounds so badd ass. :rock

Hey Moe, if you want to practice something challenging yet rewarding then look into Chet Atkins version of Starry Starry Night. It's a beautifully written composition that roots directly from Don McLean's version.

Cool. I'm always up for new challenges on the guitar!

I love this song. Poor video/audio quality but it still translates very well.

Indeed...although is it ever too late to learn anything from one of the most prolific guitarists in metal??

Randy was a great guitar player, but I would never call him prolific. He's on 2 Quiet Riot and 3 Ozzy albums, one of them being live, for a total of 5. BB King, by my last count has 49 albums. Buckethead has over 30.

Since when was BB King or Buckethead considered Metal guitarists? As for RANDY RHOADS... 5 albums or not , Prolific is EXACTLY as he will be remembered.
