I think they changed her makeup this season. They made her more feminine looking. Her forehead isn't quite as high for one thing and her hair is different.

Guess I really didn't notice it until this episode. Almost looked like a different actress.

They got rid of the heavy black around her eyes too.

Man, this storyline between
the Viceroy and Christie just seems so insane, but I really like it. It's an interesting concept, with humans appropriating alien characteristics to escape themselves. The manipulations with Diedre to breakup Alak and Christie is less interesting, but at least all of this is way more interesting than Alak and Christie together.

I enjoyed the little bit of Cai we got. Let's hope they don't pull a Conner where they introduce an interesting character only to kill him off.

Line of the night: “There are two types of friends in this world. The kind that helps you hide a dead whore, and me.”

It looks like things are REALLY going to start heating up the rest of this season. Can't wait to see where this goes.

I love that line! :lol Doc is so deadpan.

It is nice that the actress playing Christie is finally being given a chance to stretch her acting muscles. She had basically been reduced to a glorified extra. She also looks very striking in her Castithan makeup.

Cannot stand Doc Yewell or whatever her name is. Easily the worst acting in the show, I can't help but cringe every time she's on.

Whoa!

I thought the last episode was a really good one. First of all...

spoiler
space...

Hello Kenya! I really did not think they'd bring her back, and of course I'm intrigued to see how that happened. But, she kind of kicked ass in this episode, so that's nice. It does seem strange that the kidnappers just left her there, but I guess they were in a hurry. I actually hardly recognized her compared to her appearance last year.

Tommy joining the E-Rep... what a weasel! I had to laugh at Berlin's response when he asked if she was seeing Nolan. I missed Berlin.

I love that line! :lol Doc is so deadpan.

She gets all the best lines. Well, her and Nolan. And Berlin. And Stahma, sometimes. :)

Pretty good finale. Another show I'll have to wait almost a year to see again. :(

One question......What the hell happened to Linda Hamilton!? Did being married to James Cameron suck that much life out of her?

Looks like excessive cigarette smoking to me. Gotta give her props for owning her natural looks and not shooting her face full of Botox.

Yeah, not to be insensitive, but she looked like 9 miles of bad road. Maybe it's just that I haven't seen her in anything for so long, the aging was a bit more of a shock.

Strong finale. Hope the show makes it back for another season.

Just caught up on the rest of the season. Man, oh man. It's so sad more people are talking about this show. The season really went out with a bang. Some thoughts:

I love Berlin and Pottinger. What two amazing additions to the cast. Pottinger makes a great villain. It's hard not to feel for the guy, even when he's doing despicable things. I almost feel bad for him, the day Amanda finds out what he's done. Almost.

Amanda - continues to be great, but actually freed from being the mayor I think she really grew as a character. Freed from the blah drug abuse storyline, she was given some REALLY great stuff. Her dealing with Kenya's return was great, as was the subsequent heartbreak. I actually loved that whole storyline. They both really acted their socks off, and it's something that you can only really do in science fiction. Also, I really enjoyed her one episode stint as lawkeeper. :)

The Treasure Doll storyline... an interesting ending to a bit of a so-so storyline. Having Christy be the one to kill her added some dimension to a fairly dull character. In fact, they've really made her character SO much more interesting this season as a whole. The look on Alak's face when he realized she was a bit more like his mother than he had probably hoped! Priceless! Not sure the actress is totally up to the demands of the role, but she wasn't bad.

The Tarr's, as always, were a delight. And I have to give the writers all due credit for really putting them through the wringer and giving a believable arc to their journey back together.

Doc Yewll - I wish she was given more to do, but at least she almost-sorta-coulda saved everyone at the end. She continues to be one of the more interesting characters in the show with her own strange morality.

As for Quentin and Pelar - Again Quentin was way more interesting, and it was great to see Linda Hamilton again. She brought a great edge to Pelar, which the role needed. I am really confused exactly what they hope to accomplish, to be honest. It was kind of a weird storyline to start up at the end of the season, in some ways.

Irisa - I was a bit sad we got to see so little of the ACTUAL Irisa this season. But, still, she was given some interesting stuff to play. Her realization of what she'd done to Tommy... heartbreaking. Let's talk about Tommy for a second. What a way to send a character off. Nolan fighting to save his life, the flashbacks, Berlin's reaction to his death... and Nolan's reaction to his death... I thought that was one of the best episodes of the series.

Nolan, as always, was great. Though I missed him interacting with the town, more, because so much of his time was spent trying to stop Irisa. The budget failed the scope of the show, at the end. The CGI was pretty bad. But that's okay, I can forgive substandard SFX if the story is good.
I NEED this show to be renewed! There's nothing quite like it on TV right now, and I want to see the story of these characters continue.

I could take or leave Berlin. She can irritate me at times.

The Tarrs are great, well, except the son. He's just okay.

Pretty good season overall, I wish though in the finale that they had cut the number of FX shots so that they could do a better job than to try to do lots of city destruction shots that they really didn't have the time or money to do properly.

There's also a new show after Defiance on Syfy called Dark Matters that I'll be checking out.
